IDP Wrap Up: Week 11

Chris Jones put on a show for the Chiefs faithful in Week 11. It seemed like the Mississippi State alum was a man possessed on Sunday. In his matchup with Dallas, Jones wrangled five total tackles, two tackles for loss, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, defended a pass, and recorded 3.5 sacks. As a 27-year-old starting defensive lineman, Jones can be relied on to be a starting DL in all IDP formats.

Raiding the IDP Waiver Wire: Week 5

“Raiding the IDP Waiver Wire” is written for fantasy football gamers in leagues that require a full complement of 11 defensive starters in leagues of 12 to 16 teams. We rely on scoring settings from FantasyPros.com, even though their value for passes defensed is a bit low. We’ll look for options at both conventional and true defensive positions as they arise. Players qualifying for this column are those rostered in no more than a third of IDP leagues on MyFantasyLeague.com (MFL). These recommendations further assume you, the manager, have finite roster space with challenging cut decisions to add new names.

Schemes Are Ch-Ch-Changing: Cowboys Join Hybrid Herd

The defensive scheme change in Dallas could be quite shocking to Cowboys’ fans. Mike Nolan’s body of work combined with recent experience in the Saints’ hybrid system as a linebackers coach should yield a more varied and complex defense than fans have known. Not only will we miss preseason action to see a preview of this defense, but also beat writers are prohibited from reporting players’ alignments during training camp. 2020 will provide more surprises than ever for IDP aficionados and this in a time when defenses are ever more multiple. September 13, 2020, will be the most astonishing day of football in a long time!
