In the Scope: Week 12

With Week 12 of the NFL and fantasy football regular season just on the horizon, matchups are more season-decisive than ever.Name and draft value no longer matter. Instead, it’s simply outscoring your opponent with whatever means necessary. If it means picking a lesser-valued player off the waivers and throwing him in your lineup to win games, so be it. At least at the end of the day, you can say you tried. That’s what this week’s “In the Scope” targets are focused on. Players, who still won’t be seen as priority claims, but are players you can stick in your lineup over the next two weeks and help you vie for a spot in the fantasy football playoffs come Week 14.So, as always, here are your Week 12 “In the Scope” candidates who have the potential to be next week’s priority waiver claims.

In the Scope: Week 11 Re-emerging Targets

Timing is one of the most crucial factors when it comes to considering adding any player to a fantasy football roster.Sometimes stats and trends mislead us to believe that a breakout for a player is coming. And while sometimes as analysts we just flat-out whiff, Dante Pettis for example, a majority of the time we just miss on the timing – often predicting a breakout too early. This week’s edition of “In the Scope” is all about players who are or could be re-emerging back into the fantasy landscape.Still, players who have the potential to be next week’s priority claims, this week’s “In the Scope” targets are some familiar faces that could help your team make a run to the coveted fantasy football playoffs.

Who to get for the Fantasy Playoffs?

Speaking of quarterbacks that you can get off of waivers unless somebody in your league did this already, we have Nick Foles. Normally, I wouldn’t touch good ol’ St. Nick in fantasy. However, he plays the Raiders and the Falcons during fantasy playoffs, which will make virtually anybody a potential starter. The Raiders and Falcons are two of the teams that allow the most fantasy points to quarterbacks. That’s not good unless you’re starting a quarterback that plays against them, which you can do in back-to-back weeks with Foles in the fantasy playoffs.

In the Scope: Week 8

Due to recent injuries, breakouts, and trades, there seems to be a buzz around the waiver wire for the first time in a while heading into Week 8.And while you’re still using your FAAB and waiver claims on priority adds like Ty Johnson and Kenny Stills (both of whom were featured in this column earlier this season), it’s still important to take your chance on a flier to fill out your bench once the waivers have cleared. As always, here are your Week 8 “In the Scope” candidates who have the potential to be next week’s top waiver claims

In the Scope: Week 7

With no blockbuster waiver-wire targets hitting the scene this week, it should be in the best interest of most redraft team owners to continue to save their waiver wire position or FAAB budget for when one does. But with that being said, it is still crucial to constantly be working the free-agent market to find the players that could lead to value and wins down the road. Here are your Week 7 “In the Scope” candidates that could soon be the top waiver claims of tomorrow.
