Bold Predictions for 2023 Dynasty

Bold prediction articles are some of my favorite types of content to research before drafts. In preparing for my drafts, I always have specific players I want to target who I believe are values vs. their average draft position. Bold prediction articles highlight these players that analysts make cases for being better than their ADP. Do I expect the bold prediction to come true? No. But directionally, the goal is for that player to outperform their ADP. If the bold part of it comes true, that is just the proverbial cherry on top.

It’s time to see how the rookies we have spent all off-season analyzing stack up to the next level of competition. It’s time to see who wins training camp battles. Hopefully, it’s not time to see an abundance of injury-related news. We know not everyone has hours to spend on Twitter. There is a lot of propaganda to weed through to truly find out what matters. The rest of this month, I will weed through what I feel matters to you, our reader, and what is just coach speak or media sensationalism.

How to Manage the Chaos at Running Back for Dynasty

The running back situation for Dynasty is in a state of utter chaos. Dynasty contenders are shaking in their boots as Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Austin Ekeler, Tony Pollard and Dalvin Cook are each embroiled in separate contract disputes. There are talks from their camps of hold-outs looming. When in situations like this, I ask myself what would Warren Buffet do if he was in my Dynasty league. Well, I am pretty sure he would be saturating the market with lowball trade offers for Barkley, Ekeler, Pollard, and Jacobs.

Tale of the Tape: Dak Prescott or Daniel Jones – Who is the Better Value at ADP?

Decades ago, Neil Diamond wrote a catchy earworm melody that eventually became the song ”I’m a Believer”, and it was subsequently performed by numerous artists over the years. Today, I am here to address one of the more polarizing players in Dynasty as the plaintiff representing Mr. Daniel Jones. You could say, “I’m a believer” and with this article, I will present the facts to hopefully turn you into one as well. After you deliberate, you can be the judge and jury and make your own decision on whether you are in or out on Jones.

Players with the Easiest Path to Value Accrual

An important aspect of Dynasty is being able to identify players with the most likely path to accruing value. Asset value alone doesn’t win you championships, but it gets you into a position where you can acquire players that bring with them the necessary production to compete for a title. There are two primary tools I use to determine player value. The first is Keep Trade Cut which crowdsources Dynasty managers’ player evaluation data by asking them to keep, trade, or cut three closely ranked players. The second is Bulletproof ADP which utilizes actual Dynasty startup draft position data from Sleeper.

Turning the Corner: The Transition from Rebuilding to Contending

It has become common knowledge in the Dynasty community that one should either compete for a championship or try to acquire future assets and secure a higher draft spot. While many can tell when it is time to “blow it up” and begin rebuilding on a team that was once a contender, the part often unmentioned is when to go from a rebuilding team to winning the championship. I have experienced the joy of earning the 1.01 as my rookie pick and winning a championship the following season, but I have also seen many teams stuck in the perpetual rebuild. Their roster and assets look great in any roster evaluation tool, but we aren’t here to have good-looking rosters. We are here to win championships. So how do we turn the corner?

Final WR1 Dynasty Rookie Wide Receiver Analytical Model Rankings

With another NFL Draft in the books, the final piece of the puzzle is now cemented for the final WR1 analytical model grades. We certainly saw a few surprise names early, “Hello, Jonathan Mingo!” and a few names that fell like once heralded five-star prospect Kayshon Boutte. Draft capital is a significant input into the model so we did see some realignment of the names in the re-draft WR1 model top 15 as well as a couple of new entrants.
