Redraft Team Focus: Panthers

Despite the Panthers’ poor quarterback play in 2019 from Cam Newton, Kyle Allen, and Will Grier, Moore flourished. He had 87 receptions on 135 targets for 1,175 yards and four touchdowns, and he finished just behind McCaffrey in targets and led the Panthers in receiving yards. Moore was the WR16 in 2019 in 15 games and averaged 15.4 PPR points per game, 16th among wide receivers.

Taxi Squad Spring Cleaning Part 2

In this series of articles, I’m taking a look at rookies from the 2019 class that can be removed from your taxi squads to make room for 2020 rookies. In part one found here, I examined four players that are potential dynasty cuts. These are players that all have little to no dynasty value, but those dynasty owners selected in at least some 2019 rookie drafts. I’ll reference my 2019 rookie rankings from late May to give an idea of where I valued these players. My rankings are for a 1QB, PPR format. Here come four more players that are subject to spring cleaning.

Devin Funchess recently signed with the Packers in free agency to a 1-year, $2.5 million contract. His contract also contains $3.75 million in incentives, making Funchess’ maximum salary $6.25 million. Before going into Funchess’ future outlook, let’s look back at how he arrived at this point in his career.

Threatened Species: IDP Impact of Panthers’ Regime Change

The good news for fantasy gamers is that many Panthers carry the preferred position designations of the 4-3 defense that the team ran in 2018. In 2019, regular contributors like Kawann Short, Gerald McCoy, Mario Addison, Bruce Irvin, Brian Burns, and Marquis Haynes all carried position designations inconsistent with the Panthers’ 3-4 alignment on MyFantasyLeague.com. This article contemplates how Phil Snow’s Temple and Baylor defensive schemes if implemented in Charlotte, would translate to IDP fantasy football.

Cam Newton to IR

Superman’s season is over and his Kryptonite is the Lisfranc injury, a condition in which the long bones in your foot are displaced. Newton originally suffered the injury during the preseason, but reaggravated it in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There were hopes that he could return initially, but those faded away as his timetable for recovery became more and more uncertain.

NFC South: Week 4 and 5 Dynasty Nuggets

DJ Moore (WR – CAR)
The second-year WR out of Maryland was the second leading receiver on Panthers in Weeks 4 and 5. Note how I didn’t say WR, as RB Christain McCaffery has led the team in targets, catches, yards and touchdowns the past two weeks. However, on the year, Moore has been the most productive pass-catcher on the Panthers this season, leading the team with 352 yards, good for WR29 on the year prior to Monday Night Football. Moore is a solid WR2/3 option moving forward.

Week 2 Streamers

This will be the first in a line of weekly articles I will be writing about streaming options at the quarterback, tight end, and D/ST positions. For each position, I will give two streamers that are under 40% owned according to ESPN’s ownership percentages based on the time of writing. I’ll start with quarterback, followed by tight end, then D/ST. Quarterback and D/ST will typically be matchup dependent plays depending on the opposing defense and offense, respectively. The tight end streamers will often be breakout players from the previous week as tight end matchups are much more difficult to predict than quarterback or D/ST. In both sections, the player listed first is my preferred stream and the second option is a backup if the first player is already rostered. With that said, let’s jump right in.

Change of Scenery: Tampa Bay to Carolina McCoy Flips Teams in the NFC South

Tampa Bay tried all off-season to trade longtime veteran defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who spent nine seasons with the Buccaneers, but with no success. They eventually cut their star defender, to save some money against the cap. During his time with the Buccaneers, McCoy played and started in all 123 games he played with Tampa Bay.

IDP Predraft Preview: Carolina Panthers

Carolina Panthers The Panthers had a solid defense last year. They were Top 10 in yards allowed but #11 in points allowed. This defense needs to inject some youth and talent, coupled with their new DC to avoid taking a step backward. Defensive Ends [profiler]Mario Addison[/profiler] will be the DE1. [profiler]Julius Peppers[/profiler] will return for

IDP Sleepers: NFC South LB’s

Atlanta Falcons The Falcons were terrible on defense in 2015, which explains why they spent their 1st, 2nd, and 4th round draft picks on defensive players. Their first round pick, Deion Jones will likely take over at MLB right away, but the sleeper of the bunch is the 4th round pick, De’Vondre Campbell, who could make
