Rookie Recap Weekly: Volume 13

Welcome, fellow IDP fantasy owners to my newest weekly article. For those of you just reading this for the first time, each week I am going to recap the top performances of a handful of rookies. We will look at how they did the past week, what it means going forward and, most importantly, the impact in the fantasy world. I hope this will help your fantasy rosters. Let’s jump right into this week’s write up.

DE, BJ Hill, New York Giants This is Hill’s first appearance on the rookie recap. He had a huge breakout game versus the Chicago Bears with three tackles and three sacks. He now has thirty-seven tackles and five sacks on the season. The opportunity is there for more playing time for him as long as he produces.

S, Terrell Edmunds, Pittsburgh Steelers  Terrell is the other Edmunds and twin brother of Tremaine Edmunds of the Buffalo Bills. This Edmunds had a big game versus the Los Angeles Chargers with eight tackles and a sack. He now has fifty-five tackles, one sack and one interception. This was the second straight game he had seven-plus tackles. The Steelers are getting a good look at what he can be during the last run of the season. The arrow is pointing upwards.

LB, Austin Calitro, Seattle Seahawks  Calitro is a newcomer to the rookie recap and had a very nice game versus the San Francisco 49ers. In that contest, he had a personal best ten tackles. With all the injuries the Seahawks have had, it’s nice to see the rookie step up and play well. He needs to start stringing these type games together to really make an impact. He has thirty-four tackles and a half a sack on the season.

CB, Grant Haley, New York Giants  Yet another first-timer to the rookie recap and the second New York Giant on this week’s list. Coming into the game, Haley had ten tackles and one for a loss, but versus the Chicago Bears, he exploded for eight tackles and two for a loss. His opportunities were limited to this point, so when he does get them, he needs these type of performances to get noticed.
