Under the Radar Week 9 IDP Starters

I look weekly at a few options for your lineups on players who are under a 50% start rate on MFL. These players can help you for a bye week or if you’re just in need of a spot starter. I know bye week coverage is always a tough time on our brains as we ponder every option. Good luck this week!

Nick Perry, LB, Green Bay Packers – Start rate 48.3%

He has been at 4 total tackles [combined tackles and assists] every week. Playing against the Lions this week I believe that’s a good floor for him. The Packers will want to attack and keep the Lions off balance which could even lead to a sack for him, giving him 4.5 on the year.

Darian Thompson, S, New York Giants – Start rate 48%

You’re going to get a few tackles from him, and that’s better than a goose egg. The Rams will not look to put the ball up a ton this week but, Thompson will get a few chances and needs to make those plays to have a good week.  In a week that has a lot of players on a bye, he is a serviceable start.

Tramon Williams, CB, Arizona Cardinals – Start rate not listed

Not many have him starting as he does not even show up on the MFL start percent. Our IDP Editor of the year, @seahawksdan8 found this gem. He is going to have some balls come his way this week and stands a good chance to get tackles, pass breakups, and dare I say, an INT? You can find him on our weekly Waiver add write up from earlier in the week here.

William Gholston, DE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Start rate 46.1 %

Again, if you’re in need you can have a player who will contribute here. Steady tackle points [2 tackles a week] to plug in if you’re in need. Playing the Saints will be a tricky opponent as they have one of the league’s top lines in both pass and run, but he will put his helmet on the ball for you and get those tackles.

Leger Douzable, DE, San Francisco 49ers – Start rate not listed

Injuries have decimated the front line in San Fran. Losing both Armstead and Thomas has opened the door for tackles and, Leger has stepped up and gone after them. Taking on the O-line of Arizona this week, who are 26th in run blocking and just slightly better in pass blocking, shows the potential for a very nice outing this week.

Good luck during another problematic bye week. Keep building and turning over the bottoms of those rosters. Hit me up anytime on twitter @DFF_JohnIDP.
