It is time to sip that Sunday coffee and tweak those lineups. We have a full day of football ahead. These sleepers I will share with you are under a 50% start rate on MFL. If you’re looking for a flex add, or need a starting option, these will be your targets.
Joe Schobert, ILB Cleveland Browns, Start rate 41.35%
I mentioned him in Week 1, but he is under our threshold once again. Playing against Indianapolis this week he should land at the minimum, 5 tackles for you. He has 9 total tackles week one against Pittsburgh and, 5 totals against Baltimore. If this game stays close, the run game will come into play with the Colts, and this will be good news for Schobert. Additionally, Jaime Collins was ruled out for Week 3 which should open up opportunities for the other linebackers to make plays.
Adam Gotsis, DE Denver Broncos. Start rate 10%
Have you ever heard this name before? Many have not. In leagues that your defensive line have favorable scoring, he has averaged just over 10 points a game. It is a small sample size of just two games, I know, but he can hold his own and make some tackles. Also, with all the studs on the Denver front, there will be much less attention paid on Gotsis. I like his chances this week against the Bills who LOVE to run the ball. If you have room on your roster and already have solid defensive ends, I would stash this youngster.
Justin Simmons, S Denver Broncos, Start rate 35%
Another Denver player here, I know, I can’t help myself. After two games, he has a 12-point average. The question is, do you take the under or the over here? I DO NOT believe he is going to skyrocket up on points but, he should stay around 5 tackles and I would be willing to wager he will have a couple of pass breakups this week. In my leagues that you start 3 safeties, he will be going for me. The Bills were unable to run the rock week 2 and will try to get that mojo back. Denver held that famed Dallas rushing attack in check and I believe will do the same at Buffalo. The ball will be worked over the middle of the field and into the Denver secondary, this will work out well for Simmons.
Eddie Jackson, S Chicago Bears, Starting rate 48%
Last week he had a big game and brought attention to his name in fantasy circles. I believe Pittsburgh will throw the ball which will make Jackson fantasy relevant back to back weeks. With Le’Veon Bell, an elite talent to be often used as well, Jackson and the Bears secondary will be in for a busy game. What I see are a lot of catches and a lot of tackles coming, and Eddie Jackson can help your IDP secondary in the points Column. The Bears front will not be able to get pressure, and this will leave plenty of time for Big Ben to find his targets.
I wish you all the best of luck in your games. Keep your eyes open for those last minute injuries and enjoy the action. Hit me up anytime on Twitter @DFF_JohnIDP
