Old Tom’s Dynasty Stash: Week 3

Stay ahead of the curve with Old Tom’s weekly dynasty stash… and potential redraft gems!

After all your leaguemates cash in on their waiver claims, you can sneak in and pick up next week’s potential hot commodities.

Is every one of these moves a dynasty steal? No.

However, lest we never forget that Old Tom firmly believes great dynasties are built upon the shoulders of GMs who never forget the importance of the now.

Good luck, friends!

Damien Harris

Though I imagine Mr. Harris isn’t hanging around too many league’s free-agent lists, Old Tom was able to pluck him off two just today. In addition, I made sure to send out a couple of trade offers, to test some waters. See, here’s the reality of the situation. That New England Patriots team is pretty dang fun to watch, and while they only accumulated 67 total rushing yards against the Seahawks, they were able to ground out 119 in Week 1. Without a true workhorse to lay claim to that position, we’ve seen exactly what we expected to see. The hope, however, is that upon #37’s return to action following Sunday’s bout with the Raiders, Mr. Harris is slowly but surely able to become said workhorse. Sure James White will linger around and Sony Michel will be Sony Michel. Nonetheless, with Cam Newton lining up at QB for this Patriots organization, Old Tom is fully invested in purchasing his potential full-time running mate. Factor in the dynasty aspect to an acquisition like this and you may very well find yourself buying extremely low for some quality future production.

JaMycal Hasty

We all know by now, the injury-riddled turmoil that has devastated some of the NFL’s best. Well, my friends, the San Francisco 49ers are not immune. As we look to that backfield we find it currently void of both Raheem Mostert (MCL Sprain) and Tevin Coleman (Knee Sprain) who both went down, Week 2 in East Rutherford, NJ. So now what? Well, as excited as Old Tom is for Jerick McKinnon to finally get his and as much as I genuinely believe Jeffery Wilson has a temporary role. The real excitement is stemming from the fact Jamycal Hasty is about to debut. Here’s the reality, folks. McKinnon, Coleman, & Wilson are all done after this year, as their contacts are set to expire. While Mostert’s deal runs through 2021, dynasty owners are already salivating at the reality that Kyle Shanahan has a unique way of keeping multiple RBs fantasy relevant. Especially, when we are talking about talented pass-catching specialists like young Mr. Hasty. So, in a nutshell, go get this man before he has a chance to show his abilities to the whole world, Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Darnell Mooney

Ladies and gentlemen, it might actually be happening. The Darnell Mooney takeover we all knew was coming. Whatever your thoughts are on Anthony Miller, and believe you me Old Tom loves Mr. Miller, I can’t help but feel that the WR2 job will belong to #11 by season’s end. No, I can’t promise you anything for certain, here.. Nonetheless, for the price it would take to roster the Tulane product you’ve really got nothing to lose. Week 3 of the 2020 season is arguably the most opportune time to begin your investment in that Chicago WR corps. As Mitchell Trubisky’s contract is set to expire after this year, one has to believe the Bears look to replace #10 with someone their fan base is ready to love. This coupled with the uncertainty around Allen Robinson’s future in the Windy City has Old Tom ready to sneak in and buy low.

P. J. Walker

If you’ve had the distinct pleasure of watching the Carolina Panthers play football, this season, you probably understand why the backup quarterback is someone to keep your eye on. Please don’t take this as a knock on Mr. Teddy Bridgewater, as Old Tom genuinely loves who and what this man is about. However, the situation he has been placed in isn’t great, and to make matters worse, they just lost Christian McCaffrey for an extended amount of time. While I understand Teddy is on the books for the next two seasons at least, don’t be surprised if Matt Rhule looks to shake up this ball club by inserting his former University of Temple starting QB. Yes, I realize the Houston Roughnecks and the XFL, as a whole, aren’t comparable to the National Football League. Nonetheless, I also realize that the excitement Mr. Walker created while leading this football league in passing yards and touchdowns during his five-game performance is something desperately needed, right now in Carolina. If you find yourself in a SuperFlex dynasty format, there could be much worse acquisitions. I’ll say this much – IF the switch is made, he will be a HOT commodity.

Jamaal Williams

Okay, just so I can make sure we are all on the same page – Aaron Jones is THE RB to own in Green Bay and it’s not even close. However, as 2020 has shown us, you just don’t know what’s around the corner. If, for any reason, AJ33 is forced to miss time Mr. Williams will jump to RB1 status, in my most humble of opinions. Additionally, and the real reason Old Tom is attempting to roster #30 in all dynasty formats, is for his post-2020 resume. As soon as this season ends, Mr. Williams will find himself as an Unrestricted Free Agent and I can’t help be think one of the top free-agent RBs on the market. Talented enough to produce delightful outcomes, in this league, you’re going to feel like a real genius making this roster move, ahead of the curve.
