IDP Stock Market Weekly: Week 9

Welcome back to another Stock Market Weekly! Our usual financial advisor couldn’t be with us but have no fear @DFF_IDP‘s @seahawksdan8 scoured the NFL for some hot stock tips for IDP.

Hot Stock

LB, Mychal Kendricks, Philadelphia Eagles – Kendricks has been an IDP asset before. In 2012, his rookie season, he had 58 tackles and was shaping up to be a solid LB2 for years to come. Then last season for some reason or another Kendricks was relegated to backup responsibilities. Well, Jordan Hicks is on IR and Kendricks has been collecting fantasy points. In his last two games (he missed week 7 due to injury) he has 18 tackles 5 assists, a sack and a pass defended. Look for that production going forward the rest of the season. Investment Rating (5)

S, Adrian Phillips, Los Angeles Chargers – The Chargers have been running a fascinating defense the last few weeks where they have 3 safeties on the field 69% of the time. The results have been 16 solo tackles the past two weeks. The Chargers have been playing good defense lately and will likely stick with this formation. The only threat to Phillips could be the return of Denzel Perryman from the IR which could mean more base sets for the Chargers with an MLB that can stop the run. I wrote about him in the Waiver Adds article on Tuesday, so if you didn’t see that buy now! Investment Rating (3)

DE, Robert Nkemdiche, Arizona Cardinals – Nkemdiche was a hot commodity last season in rookie drafts and this past offseason. Then he got hurt again. Well, he quietly made his return to the field in Week 7 and posted a modest 2 tackles in his return. The promising news is that he played 44% of snaps in that game. The former 1st round pick could be a great buy-low candidate. Investment Rating (2)

S, T.J McDonald, Miami Dolphins – McDonald still has a couple of weeks left on his suspension, but now may be the time to pounce. With the bye week apocalypse part 2 in Week 9, the owner of McDonald may be desperate for a fill in. He does normally play Strong Safety which is currently being manned by Reshad Jones who is a stud in his right. Why do you want McDonald? The Dolphins signed him to an extension while he was suspended. The Dolphins must be committed to him, and you should be too. Investment Rating (4)

Liquidate / Sell

LB, Jatavis Brown, Los Angeles Chargers – About a year ago Jatavis burst onto the IDP scene and captured our hearts with huge tackle numbers week in and week out from the waiver wire. Brown has seen a steady decline in snaps from Week 3 at 100% to a season-low 26% of snaps. His production and snaps seem to be streaming right to Hayes Pullard. Liquidation Rating (4)

DE, Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams – Aaron Donald is one of those players in a position quagmire. The Rams consider him a DT, but Rotoworld considers him a DE. Since MFL uses Rotoworld’s positions as their reason for position changes, Donald is a middle of the road DE. He would be a solid week in and week out start from the DT position. Great player and a difference maker for his team, just not an elite IDP asset.  Liquidation Rating (3)

S, Miles Killebrew, Detroit Lions – I was a big Miles guy. I drafted him in the late rounds of 2016 and stashed him. This year, I thought, “He’s going to be a Safety stud.” Welp, so much for that. He’s losing snaps each week, and his production when he was getting snaps is not impressive. Since his pick-6 in Week 1, Killebrew had 1 double-digit point game in Week 3. Since that point, he has had one 3 tackle game, and the last 3 have been 2 tackles in each. Not what you’re looking for from a safety.  Liquidation Rating (5)
