IDP Stock Market Weekly – Week 5

Hot Stock

CB Tra’Davious White (BUF): I am amazed at how little he is owned in fantasy considering how well he is playing. One of the top defensive scorers in all formats and should be owned everywhere. I will make him my hottest stock again this week, and he should have another good performance again in week 5, versus the Bengals. If he’s still available in your league, snatch him up and enjoy the rewards.  Investment Rating (5)

Investments

LB  Wesley Woodyard (TEN): If you are looking for a cheap bye week or injury fill in, then Woodyard should be someone you should target. Woodyard has very favorable matchups the rest of the way. He should continue to rack up the tackles. He has recorded 8+ in each of the first four games and should be owned in all leagues, especially tackle heavy ones. Investment Rating (4)

DT  Trevon Coley (CLE): It’s tough to find a defensive tackle that can score consistently in fantasy and a big premium placed on ones that do. Coley has thirteen tackles over the last three games, which is a lot for a DT. If you play in a position-specific league that requires you start a defensive tackle, then Coley is a big pick up. The Browns defense will be on the field more times than not, which translates to more opportunities for Coley.  Investment Rating (4)

S  Devin McCourty (NE):.  I know it sounds crazy to want a Patriots defensive player on your team, but McCourty is the one you want. With how bad the Pats defense has been playing, opposing offenses are on the field more. That means more chances for McCourty to make plays. In the first five games, he has three games with 9+ solo tackles. He’s a solid play each week and should be owned everywhere. Investment Rating (5)

Liquidate / Sell

CB  Josh Norman (WASH): Reports are that Norman will be sidelined for the next four weeks, with a broken rib and lung lining damage. The Redskins are on a bye in week 5, so he could only miss three games, but four games in fantasy is a big stretch. A drop candidate in redraft and IR eligible in dynasty leagues.  Liquidation Rating (3)

LB  Sean Lee (DAL): I suggested last week that you should prepare in case Lee was to miss multiple weeks. Hopefully, you took my advice. Lee is now scheduled to miss the next two to three weeks, with a lingering hamstring issue. One the better plays in IDP when he is on the field but is of no use during what I believe is a critical stretch in fantasy. I suggest placing on IR or using his big name and game reputation, to move him in a trade.  Liquidation Rating (4)

ILB  Jamie Collins (CLE): Collins makes the liquidate list for the second straight week, and this time his sell rating has increased. As I mentioned last week, concussions can be tricky. The fact that this will be his third game in a row missed is very concerning. When a player is slow to recover from being concussed, it’s cause for concern. What happens the next and how long will he be out? You probably won’t get value for him, as long as he’s out but as soon as he’s healthy and playing, I would suggest moving him in a trade. Liquidation Rating (4)
