IDP Notable Roster Cuts

AFC East

Buffalo Bills

Tanner Vallejo doesn’t make it to year 2 of his rookie contract.

Miami Dolphins

No notable cuts.

New England Patriots

2016 3rd Rounder Vincent Valentine only lasts two seasons in New England. Last season’s buzzy UDFA LB Harvey Langi also didn’t make the 53.

New York Jets

David Bass had a good run last season but is looking for new work. Xavier Cooper’s release likely cements 3rd Round rookie Nathan Shepherd’s opportunity.

AFC North

Baltimore Ravens

2016 was a rough draft class for Baltimore. Second Round pick Kamalei Correa was recently traded to Tennessee for a 6th Rounder. Third Round pick Bronson Kaufusi didn’t survive roster cuts this year. Long-time depth LB Albert McClellan was also released.

Cincinnati Bengals

Michael Johnson was released, hopefully, to create more opportunities for Jordan Willis, Carl Lawson, and Sam Hubbard.

Cleveland Browns

Caleb Brantley was expected to compete for snaps at DT as a sophomore. Nate Orchard was also released, likely giving up his rotational DE role to 3rd Round rookie Chad Thomas

Pittsburgh Steelers

No notable cuts.

AFC South

Houston Texans

No notable cuts.

Indianapolis Colts

Former 2nd Rounder TJ Green doesn’t make it to the end of his rookie contract. With Malik Hooker, Clayton Geathers healthy at the moment, and Matthias Farley, Indy will be expecting solid safety play. John Simon’s release means Margus Hunt will likely start at DE but either slide inside or come off the field to make way for 2nd Round rookie Kemoko Turay on passing downs.

Jacksonville Jaguars

No notable cuts.

Tennessee Titans

No notable cuts.

AFC West

Denver Broncos

No notable cuts.

Kansas City Chiefs

Ukeme Eligwe was a 5th Round rookie last year.

Frank Zombo’s release likely means Tanoh Kpassagnon is ready to serve a backup role behind Justin Houston and Dee Ford.

Los Angeles Chargers

No notable cuts.

Oakland Raiders

Former 2nd Rounder Mario Edwards was released.

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys

Kony Ealy had 3.0 sacks in the Super Bowl. He will forever be known for that. Charles Tapper could never stay healthy for Dallas. Jihad Ward is a former 2nd Rounder from Oakland who could be out of the league after two seasons.

New York Giants

Andrew Adams and Darian Thompson were both released, leaving some snaps available at FS this season. Avery Moss was a 5th Rounder last year who didn’t transition well to a 3-4. Calvin Munson was fun for a game or two last season.

Philadelphia Eagles

Ironhead Gallon was one of the best #IDP names in the league.

Washington Redskins

No notable cuts.

NFC North

Chicago Bears

John Timu will likely head back to the practice squad until Danny Trevathan gets hurt.

Detroit Lions

DeShawn Shead and Dexter McDougle were both battling for snaps at CB.

Green Bay Packers

No notable cuts.

Minnesota Vikings

Brian Robison’s release put a lot of faith in the development of 4th Round rookie Jalyn Holmes.

NFC South

Atlanta Falcons

Ron Parker was a veteran add for the Falcons. He didn’t survive the preseason.

Carolina Panthers

Daeshon Hall was a 3rd Round pick last year.

New Orleans Saints

Hau’oli Kikaha and Al-Quadin Muhammad both gone leaves a relatively light DE depth chart lighter.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Keith Tandy’s release was made possible by the ascension of rookie Jordan Whitehead.

NFC West

Arizona Cardinals

Sixth Round CB Christian Campbell didn’t survive roster cuts.

Los Angeles Rams

Tegray Scales release means the ILB depth chart will be Mark Barron, Cory Littleton, Ramik Wilson, and Micah Kiser.

San Francisco 49ers

Korey Toomer clears the LB depth chart up a little. Jeremiah Attaochu leaves the role of backup DE behind the oft-injured Arik Armstead to Ronald Blair and potentially, rookie Jullian Taylor.

Seattle Seahawks

Maurice Alexander didn’t survive roster cuts, leaving the Safety depth chart a little more cleared up. Special teams ace DJ Alexander was released. Byron Maxwell was put on IR leaving Dontae Johnson to start opposite Shaquille Griffin.
