Without taking an NFL snap, we in the fantasy community must make up our minds on how the new crop of RBs will produce in the NFL, as rookies and thereafter. Here, I look at how history might point the way to the career paths of Miles Sanders, Josh Jacobs, and David Montgomery. Miles Sanders …

IDP Only Rookie Mock Draft: Three rounds of nothing but IDP rookie mock drafting. No offensive players here, it’s all IDP.
We’ve begun our move into the NFC South for our diamond hunting. A lot of interesting prospects here, but buyer beware on the prospects in the South. Some of these prospects have the potential to become future NFL starters and can flourish, but there are some obstacles that they will need to overcome to get there. As with most draft picks past the fourth round, barriers will be in their way for them to even sniff the NFL field or roster.
The best part of fantasy football hands down is drafting. Best ball formats allow the fantasy player to draft a team and then forget it. No weekly conundrums on who to pick off the waiver wire, or who to start. Draft your favorite upside players and sit back and enjoy the show. Another perk of …

Earlier this offseason, I wrote this article about how to apply the concept of VBD to compare league formats. I didn’t look at this concept in the article, but I looked at something remarkably similar. I looked at the difference between a particularly “beefed up” scoring system for quarterbacks, and 2QB/super flex leagues. What we found was that even in a pretty high scoring setup for quarterbacks, there were still more quarterbacks in the top 30 VBD players in the super flex format than the beefy 1QB scenario. Let’s do something similar for TE-premium.

In a typical 12 team league, championships are won and lost in rounds four through six( picks 37-72). In this range, there are plenty of players that have RB1 or WR1 upside in addition to the top quarterback options and some strong, tight ends. There are also some players being drafted in these three rounds that will not help your fantasy team. I will call out three players that I will not be drafting in redraft leagues this year. I’ll give you each player’s Fantasy Football Calculator half PPR ADP, compared that to my ranking of these players.

If you are reading this article, you probably like to trade. It doesn’t take an avid mentalist to propose that thought, though. The vast majority of dynasty football players love to trade. This is understandable because of how crucial trading is to capture value for your rosters. I’ve compiled a list of trading theory and tips, many of which you probably already know. However, it’s always good to get a refresher on the best practices of trading.
Every year you see fantasy players draft quarterbacks because ‘The team will be passing more’ when the team is losing, but what if I told you this isn’t the way you should be looking at how to draft quarterbacks? Did you know, since the beginning of the 2000 NFL season (606 games), that for each fantasy football point per game scored by a quarterback, their team’s wins for the given season increases by roughly 0.4 wins.

The tight end position has been a turnstile for New England in the short time since Rob Gronkowski retired. The Patriots have been scrambling to find a replacement since he left the NFL. They signed TE Stephen Anderson in January, Matt LaCosse in March, and Austin Seferian-Jenkins in April. Then subsequently they traded Jacob Hollister to Seattle while later signing former Patriot Benjamin Watson in May. If your head isn’t spinning yet, there’s more. Austin Seferian-Jenkins was cut at the beginning of June, and today the Patriots traded a conditional 7th round pick to the Detroit Lions for 2017 fourth round pick Michael Roberts (TE).
They say patience is a virtue. It can be hard showing patience in dynasty football. Holding onto players when they are not producing can make you sweat and cut bait on players not helping you win at the moment. Well, I am going to go in depth on a player worth waiting on. JJ Arcega-Whiteside (JJAW) is an outstanding player that may not produce right away.

Tampa Bay tried all off-season to trade longtime veteran defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who spent nine seasons with the Buccaneers, but with no success. They eventually cut their star defender, to save some money against the cap. During his time with the Buccaneers, McCoy played and started in all 123 games he played with Tampa Bay.

He was born Orban Eugene ”Spec” Sanders on January 26th, 1919. The Oklahoma product played his college ball the University of Texas. He was the sixth overall pick of the 1942 draft by Washington Redskins. Sanders never appeared in a game for the ’Skins. In fact, he didn’t make his professional debut until 1946. This was due to military service during WWII. Post active duty, Sanders joined an upstart league called the All-American Football Conference. The league was designed for ex-college greats who didn’t make one of 10 NFL rosters, and ex-pros who were returning from military service.
Welcome to the NFC East edition of Diamonds in the Rough. The dynasty-IDP-sleeper-prognosticator gods have graced me once more in this edition. Every team has high-upside players that can turn out to be steals in your rookie draft. With proper coaching and development, these players can make an impact for your team during their rookie campaign and for many seasons after. Round and round we go down the rabbit hole. And as a friendly reminder, the Diamond in the Rough series covers rookie sleepers that were drafted in the fourth round or later.
