Easy Like Sunday Morning: 11.25

This article is meant to be a quick recap of news from the last week, thoughts going into each week’s games, notes on injuries, guys to put on your radar, etc. It’ll be a quick article every week because we’re all busy Sunday mornings.

Giving Thanks

In honor of Thanksgiving, I asked the #IDP community on twitter.com what they were thankful for this year.

@FantasyFrank1 said, “I’m thankful for Kiko Alonso.”

@dynastyfootie said he’s thankful for “Everyone sleeping on Darius Leonard so I could get him as a free agent after the rookie draft.” I want in that league…

@orangeman3142 said “I’m thankful for Kendal Fuller’s consistency, Aaron Donald and Budda Baker[profiler]‘s week winning performances, and also getting Thomas Davis, Nigel Bradham, and KJ Wright off the waiver wire for free in a super deep all IDP league cause no one else was paying attention.”

@therealNFLguru said he’s thankful for “Having Aaron Donald, Mack, Jaylon Smith, Brad Chubb, Little Watt all on the same IDP team.” That sounds like a contender.

I asked the #DFF #IDP team what they’re thankful for this year. If you’re not following these guys, fix that.

@BrumleyNFL, The Man, the Myth, the Legend- wait for it, Dary, is thankful “[profiler]Deion Jones is healthy for the playoff push in fantasy.”

@seahawksdan8, Half Man, 65% Amazing, Don’t tell him the Math, is thankful for “Darius Leonard for being a stud LB1 each and every week.”

@DFF_DWin, Hollywood Boulevard to the Championship is thankful for his “amazing and inspiring Co-host and Producer, who makes me want to be a better man.” I’m sure he’s thankful for his wife as well. If you haven’t listened to @IDPEdgeCrushers, I would guess you just like losing…

Personally, I’m thankful for:

The rookie off-ball LB class which has the chance to be historic.

Sheldon Rankins is finally becoming a DT1 after waiting for 2.5 years.

Trading Trent Murphy for Chris Jones right before Jones’ sack streak.

Alliteratively named safeties, Budda Baker being a complete stud in his sophomore season, John Johnson III being much the same, Adrian Amos Jr. being a solid S2, and Josh Jones seeing a little bit of opportunity.

Clayton Geathers being healthy again after a couple of rough seasons.

As a Bears fan, Jon Gruden. Enough said there.

Snacks Harrison proving he’s a stud regardless of what team or scheme.

DT- and CB-required leagues.

IDPers who overvalue DTs and CBs in required leagues and will give up draft picks for them.

My gorgeous wife without whose help I couldn’t do this.

My daughter’s nap times, without which I couldn’t do this.

News and Notes

Adam Schefter was on a roll last Sunday. He reported that the Browns were thinking of interviewing Condoleezza Rice for their Head Coaching position in the offseason. Rice shut down these rumors with a statement.

Schefter also reported that Jacksonville could be open to trading Jalen Ramsey in the offseason. It’s a smart move. They could get a haul for Ramsey who will expect a huge payday soon and who, at his best, can be a distraction off the field and a near constant source of motivation for opposing teams.

Titans DC Dean Pees left Sunday’s game and was taken to an Indianapolis hospital where he remained overnight. HC Mike Vrabel called the defense for the remainder of the game.

Joey Bosa made his long-awaited season debut last week. Bosa played 55% of snaps, but expect that to increase as he gets into football shape. But injury giveth and injury taketh away. Atlanta is done for the season, and it may no longer make sense to bring Deion Jones off IR. Preston Brown and Nick Perry both were added to IR.

Tweet of the Week
