We are only 8 days away from the kick off of the 2017 college football season. The end is in sight, but as we get closer to August 26th, the days continue to drag by. We are already this far into our countdown, so we might as well finish it. Let’s meet our 8th ranked Devy prospect:
Name: Deon Cain
Weight: 190 lbs
2018 Class: 6
Deon Cain looks to be next in the long line of Clemson wide receivers to make an impact in the NFL. As a freshman, on a team with Mike Williams and Artavis Scott, Deon Cain displayed a talent for being a downfield threat in the passing game. He reeled in 34 passes for 582 yards and 5 touchdowns. The 2015-2016 season didn’t end on a happy note, however. Cain missed the College Football Playoff due to suspension.
As a sophomore, he improved on the year before. Cain averaged 19.1 yards per catch and scored 9 times on just 38 catches. Most importantly, he kept himself out of trouble and he was there for his team in their run to a National Championship.
In his junior season, Cain needs to show that he can run the entire route tree, and with that, become more than a deep threat.
