Countdown to College Football: #2

Can you believe it? No, not that I made it this far through this countdown without missing a day, but that there are only 2 days standing between us and college football. This weekend’s serving of college football is fairly small, but who are we to complain? We’ll take what we can get, am I right?

Now, for the reason you’re all here, let’s meet our #2 Devy prospect. As you can tell by the photo, it’s Saquon Barkley.

PROFILE

Name: Saquon Barkley
School: Penn State
Position: RB
Height: 5’11″
Weight: 230 lbs
Class: Junior

RANKING

Overall: 2
Positional: 2
2018 Class: 2

Great running backs are able to create for themselves. They are able to make at least one would-be-tackler miss and there was no one better at that in 2016 than Saquon Barkley.

In 2015, Barkley ran for over 1,000 yards with a poor offensive line. He was regularly forced to create yards on his own. In 2016, his offensive line was better and that showed in his stat line (1,496 yards and 18 touchdowns). Can Barkley rush for 2,000 yards behind an even more improved offensive line in 2017?

For a more about what makes Saquon Barkley so good, check out this player profile and download Devy Watch if you haven’t already.
