The Throw-ins: Part 1

Everyone knows the names of big-name players and why you should target them. These are not those guys. These are the other guys. Players who often end up getting cut by one team when making trades so that they don’t exceed the roster limit. These are players that could amount to nothing come 2020 or players that you can stream during bye weeks.

It’s Okay to Overpay: D.J. Moore

Too often when playing dynasty fantasy football we get enamored with being able to buy low on players. Don’t get me wrong. Buying low on a player is a sound strategy. But sometimes players are worth the full cost of their market value. In even rarer cases some players are worth overpaying for. Even overpaying is a relative term. If you overpay today for a player who turns into a perennial WR1/RB1 in the future, did you really overpay? What someone sees as an overpay today could be looked at completely differently next season. I’m a strong proponent of paying up to acquire players when I believe they will be long-term fantasy studs. One such player that fits that definition for me is D.J. Moore.

Can Bad Passing Offenses Provide Fantasy Relevant Wide Receivers? Part 2

During the just completed fantasy season, I thought about the fantasy scoring that stems from bad offenses. Specifically, wide receiver scoring from poor passing offenses. I suspect that the wide receiver from a bad offense who scores the most fantasy points isn’t a particularly good long term fantasy asset. Though that seems intuitive, I wanted to take a look through history to see if this thought is correct. Gathering data is instructive.

Tight End Spotlight: Mike Gesicki

In fantasy football, the tight end position is somewhat of an enigma. Most leagues require you to start at least one, which is hard enough by itself. Other leagues, for whatever reason (all kidding aside), require you to start two. While the elite tight ends are usually pretty easy to identify, they require significant draft capital to acquire and cost you valuable depth at other positions on your roster.

The Waiver Wire: Week 16

Hopefully, I’ll be able to help you whether you’re reading this in preparation for your upcoming championship game or to accrue assets for 2020. Only two teams are alive in your leagues (assuming you don’t have a Week 17 championship). That means you should be looking to the future if you aren’t one of those

You’re Dead to Me: Corey Davis

Every season there are bound to be players who disappoint you in fantasy football. Some years it might be a player that’s already disappointed you in the past. In the worst cases, this same player keeps disappointing you year after year. That’s what this series will examine. Players who I can no longer deal with having on my dynasty rosters.
