DraftKings: Wild Card Weekend Breakdown

On the eve of Wild Card Weekend, I’ll provide a quick break down of all the players I think you can consider in your DraftKings lineups for the full four-game slate. You can also use it accordingly for the two-game slates if you’re playing those as well. On a slate like this, build yourself a […]

DraftKings: Main Slate GPP Tournament Plays for Week 15

Every week this article identifies and breaks down a variety of players to consider in your DraftKings tournament lineups. While some of the plays may be on the safer side, I also include a number of high risk-high reward options as well. In GPPs, the goal is always to figure out how to differentiate your lineup just enough to get away from the field and give yourself a chance at a big payday. Remember, more often than not there’s no need to get super-weird and roster an entire lineup of off-the-board plays, but rather to build a lineup with upside and then identify a low-owned player or two that has a chance to go off and jump you to the top of a large-field GPP.

John Brown ($6,400)
The move to Buffalo seems to really be working out for John Brown, as the Bills wideout has had an excellent season so far. Through Week 10 he’s caught at least four passes for 50 yards in every game this season and has failed to eclipse double-digit DraftKings points just once in nine outings.

DraftKings: Main Slate GPP Tournament Plays for Week 8

Russell Wilson ($7,200) is strictly a GPP play for me on DraftKings this week, priced all the way up to $7,200. He should smash against an Atlanta defense that ranks at or near the bottom of the league in just about every meaningful defensive statistic. The issue here is Atlanta’s ability to stay in this game, which is highly correlated with the health of Matt Ryan, who left in the second half of Week 7 with an ankle injury. While the Seahawks have some problems in the secondary, they do a good job of putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks, which is less than ideal given the Falcons porous offensive line. With Matt Schaub under center, it’s unlikely that the Falcons can hang offensively, and even with a limited Ryan, you need Atlanta to put up an offensive showing in order to force Wilson into the kind of game script his price tag requires.

DraftKings: Main Slate GPP Tournament Plays for Week 7

Russell Wilson ($6,600)
So far this season Seattle has displayed a rather middle of the road defense, which has often forced Russell Wilson to be more aggressive both as a runner and a passer. That has quietly translated into averages of 284 passing yards and over 25 rushing yards per game with 17 combined touchdowns through the first six weeks. This week the Ravens come to town, but this game profiles to be nothing like we would have imagined just a season or two ago. These days Baltimore’s defense is arguably worse than Seattle’s, while at the same time second-year quarterback Lamar Jackson has been giving defensive coordinators nightmares and has the team averaging more than 30 points per game. That makes this exactly the type of spot where Wilson has historically put the Seahawks on his back, and this game has all the makings of a high-scoring affair where he should put up a huge fantasy day.

Yahoo DFS: Main Slate Cash and GPP Plays for Week 6

Dede Westbrook ($16) vs. New Orleans – (Cash and GPP).

On Yahoo this week, Westbrook represents the receiver I project as the highest point per dollar value play on the slate. First, I absolutely love D.J. Chark and have been on him nearly every week so far, but against New Orleans, I’m afraid he gets the Marshon Lattimore treatment. And Lattimore looks back to his old self after some early season concerns, limiting Amari Cooper to five catches for 48 yards in Week 4, and completely shutting out Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans on Sunday. While Lattimore is busy following Chark around, Jacksonville should find success exploiting the Saints’ weakness when it comes to slot receivers. Westbrook is running 78.3% of his routes out of the slot according to PlayerProfiler, and this usage profiles similarly to players like Tyler Lockett (61.7% of routes out of the slot) and Cooper Kupp (76.2% of routes out of the slot). In meetings with New Orleans earlier this season, Kupp posted 5 catches for 120 yards in Week 2 and Lockett followed up with 11 catches for 154 yards and a touchdown in Week 3. Even Tampa Bay’s WR2, Chris Godwin, runs a little over 50% of his routes out of the slot on the year, and he torched New Orleans for 125 yards and two touchdowns on seven receptions last week. At just $16, Westbrook is an absolute steal given his usage, role, and highly appealing matchup.

Matt Ryan ($6,400)

According to FantasyData.com, opposing quarterbacks are averaging 24.82 DraftKings points per game against the Cardinals (fourth-most). They also rank seventh-worst in passing yards allowed at nearly 270 yards per game and have already surrendered a dozen touchdowns through the air in the first five games (only the Redskins with 13 are worse). On the flip side, Matt Ryan is averaging over 44 pass attempts per game, has multiple touchdowns in all but one game, and has yet to throw for less than 304 yards in a single week. This matchup is where the rubber meets the road and we roll with the veteran signal-caller carrying his team’s offense.

Yahoo DFS: Main Slate Cash and GPP Plays for Week 5

Every week this article identifies and breaks down a variety of players to consider in your Yahoo cash and tournament lineups. While some of the plays are of the safe cash-game variety, I also include several high risk-high reward options as well. In cash-games, we’re looking for a floor based on what is most likely to happen. In GPPs, the goal is always to figure out how to differentiate your lineup just enough to get away from the field and give yourself a chance at a big payday. Remember, more often than not, there’s no need to get super-weird and roster an entire lineup of off-the-board plays. Deshaun Watson ($6,700)
Of all the games on the Sunday main slate, Vegas has this one pegged with the highest projected total at 48.5 points and the Texans favored by less than a touchdown. Through four weeks Watson has been alternating between being a fantasy monster, with 31.72 DraftKings points in Week 1 and 29.84 in Week 3, and then a fantasy dud, with Week 2 and Week 4 totals of 12.86 and 12.6 DraftKings points respectively.

AFC South Factory Divisional Nuggets: Week 4

HOUSTON TEXANS
This team seems to be alternating between exciting offensive battles like the Week 1 shootout in New Orleans and Week 3’s 27-20 upset win over the Chargers on the road. In the even weeks, they’ve been borderline unwatchable so far, holding off Jacksonville for a 13-12 victory in the final minute in Week 2 and then falling at home to Carolina 16-10 on Sunday. In other words, this is a 2-2 Bill O’Brien coached team that looks like a 2-2 Bill O’Brien coached team.

Yahoo DFS: Main Slate Cash and GPP Plays for Week Three

It looks like the team over at Yahoo Daily Fantasy Sports resisted rolling out mass multi-entry products for as long as they could, as three weeks into the NFL season they now have 125 max and 150 max entry limits in their two biggest contests. We should assume some sort of shift in their marketing strategy is coming, as well as CSV-upload capability, relatively soon. It likely signals the end of the 10 entry maximum era there, and it will be interesting to see if targeting the high dollar mass multi-entry market can elevate them to the level of FanDuel and DraftKings eventually.

Lamar Jackson ($6,700)
Unsurprisingly, DraftKings has jumped the price tag up on Jackson this week, but I think we could be in for another 30+ fantasy day against Arizona. The Cardinals secondary looked awful at Detroit on Sunday, getting shredded by Matthew Stafford for 385 yards and three touchdowns, making it clear the absence of Patrick Peterson is going to be a huge issue. Clearly they tried to try to mask some of that concern by blitzing the, which led to Stafford seeing pressure on a Week 1 high 47.1% of his dropbacks. That’s not going to work against Lamar Jackson.

Yahoo DFS: Main Slate Cash and GPP Plays for Week 1

Over at Yahoo Daily Fantasy Sports, they’re kicking off the NFL season with a $1,000,000 GPP tournament that pays out $100,000 to the first-place finisher. In our effort here at Dynasty Football Factory to comprehensively cover and provide analysis on the entire DFS landscape each week, I’m breaking down the best options on Yahoo for both GPPs and Cash games in Week 1. One important thing to note about Yahoo is that unlike some other DFS platforms, the Sunday main slate also includes the Pittsburgh Steelers @ New England Patriots game on Sunday night so there a few extra guys in the player pool to consider. For those just getting started on Yahoo, the scoring system is most similar to FanDuel (.5 point PPR), while the lineup makeup is exactly the same as the two major sites. The biggest difference is pricing, where instead of dealing with thousands of dollars, the budget is just $200 and players are generally priced between $10 (minimum) and the low $40 range. Now that you know the drill, let’s take a look at the Week 1 plays.
