Buy Low/Sell High QB: Week 1

Below I am going to highlight players who I feel are current values after Week 1 in the NFL season. The players listed are not necessarily MUST trade for, or trade away, players, they merely are values at this current time.

Buy Low

Dak Prescott – QB Dallas Cowboys

Dak had a rough start to the 2022 season. He produced a disappointing 5.46 points and fractured his finger in the process. Dynasty owners are afraid as Dak has a history of injuries and are probably considering moving him to get someone they can start in his absence. I still believe Dak has a lot left to prove and can be a worthwhile investment.

Value: I would be confident in trading a package of Carson Wentz + a rookie second, straight-up players like Matt Stafford and Derek Carr, or a 2023 late-round pick.

Sell High

Ryan Tannehill – QB, Tennessee Titans

Ryan Tannehill is just not that good. Simple as that. The lack of weapons in the passing game does not help that statement either. Tannehill somehow ended up as the QB11 in week 1 and I am not sure how that happened. He looked to have no rapport with any of the receivers on Sunday and I believe that will be a consistent theme this season. Malik Willis, a 2022 third-round selection, is the apparent successor to an overpaid, underproducing Tannehill. I don’t see Willis overtaking the throne from Tannehill this season, but I do expect this to happen in a season or so.

Value: If someone is QB needy, I would look to shop Tannehill for a 2023 mid-second-round rookie pick, or package him for an upgrade for a QB with better longevity.
