2022 DFF Draft Coverage: Greg Dulcich

Greg Dulcich | UCLA  6’4” 243 lbs. | 02/26/2000 (Age 22)

Greg Dulcich was drafted 80th overall by the Denver Broncos, becoming the third tight end and 80th overall player in the 2022 NFL Draft.

COLLEGE PRODUCTION

Year  Games Played   Receptions   Yards   Yards/Catch   TDs
 2018 (FR)  1  1  6  6.0  0
 2019 (SO)  5  8  105  13.1  1
 2020 (JR)  7   26  517  19.9  5
 2021 (SR)    11  42  725  17.3  5

The former walk-on improved each season at UCLA. He’s a former three-star wide receiver who didn’t start until the 2020 season. He started to make a name for himself, as he led the Bruins in receiving with 517 yards and five touchdowns. He followed that with an impressive 2021 campaign, hauling in 42 receptions for 725 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged an eye-popping 18.3 yards per reception during his final two seasons at UCLA.

STRENGTHS

He was very athletic for the position and his speed and toughness show with his after-the-catch production. He shows signs that he could turn into a solid blocker. He has excellent running stream routes, as he often outran linebackers during his collegiate career. Comes out of breaks quickly, targeting the quarterback and the ball instantly.

WEAKNESSES

Needs major improvements in his mechanics as a blocker. Tends to lose focus and drop passes too often. Needs to improve his route-running repertoire.

ATHLETIC TESTING

At the NFL combine, Dulcich measured in at 6’4” and 243 lbs. Which equates to a BMI of 29.6. He ran a solid 4.69 40-yard dash, equating to a 99.1-speed score. Both scores land him in the 63rd percentile or higher. He shows elite leaping abilities, recording a 122” broad jump.

His one red flag is his strength. Dulcich turned in only 16 reps on the bench press, which landed him ninth among 10 tight ends who participated.

DRAFT ANALYSIS

Rapid Reaction to Draft Capital: Excellent

Rapid Reaction to Landing Spot: Excellent

Dulcich was selected with the 80th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos.

Russell Wilson gets one of the best tight ends out of this draft to add to his arsenal as a new member of the Broncos. Dulcich joins Albert Okwuegbunam in a tight end group looking to rebound from the departure of Noah Fant.

FANTASY INSIGHTS

Dulcich should battle Okwuegbunam for the TE1 spot for Denver, and he’s easily a top-5 tight end in this year’s draft. Some scouts pegged him as the top pass-catcher at his position. He brings TE2 upside in dynasty leagues. His fantasy impact may be slow at first, but he has the tools to produce for years to come down the road. Target him as a late-round talent in both rookie and start-up leagues. As far as redraft, he’s not worth the look unless you play in a very deep formatted league.
