If you have stuck with me this far you my friends are no “Skimmers, ” and I am proud of you! This is the last entry in my 8 part series of buy and sells, and I hope you enjoyed and got some advice for reading it. So, Good Luck in all your leagues this year and I hope you keep up with us in our weekly Start/Sit so that you can take your league over!
Buy: Robert Nkemdiche, Defensive end – As we get closer to the start of the regular season in 7 days, I feel that Robert can be the dominant lineman he was touted to be coming out of Ole Miss. He is a physical freak and showed this in his time playing this preseason! He has that first step back and that burst which made him a highly touted prospect. At the mid-way point this season he should find his stride and give you a healthy IDP stat line through the fantasy playoffs. 10 sacks and 50 tackles are highly possible.
Sell: Deone Bucannon, Safety – With constant ankle issues, Deone Bucannon is not a lock to start in the Cardinals week one game. When Mr. Bucannon can’t make a start, then the beast known as Haason Reddick will step in. Mr. Reddick, a walk on at Temple University, worked himself up the depth ladder to become a monster there. He will be a monster in Arizona sooner than later.
San Francisco 49ers
Buy: Arik Armstead, Defensive end – Coming into this season under 275 lbs has shown that Armstead is ready to go and is committed. This 49er D-Line is one of the most imposing lines they have ever had. I think if you still play in 1991 and you still start D/ST’s, then this is a sleeper defense to check out. Grab Arik Armstead, who I have seen going really late and reap the benefits.
Sell: Navarro Bowman, Linebacker – This one brings a tear to my eye… Mr. FREAK Bowman helped me get to 2 back to back bowls, winning one. I waited out his injuries for over a year to then have him help me win. Trade him while he still has some solid value, but in our Dynasty world, he is getting long in the tooth.
Buy: K.J. Wright, Linebacker – All this guy does is produce! He is not a sexy start in IDP, but he is consistent and will give you a big play or two. His team mate Bobby Wagner is a no brainer buy, but after he is gone, you can wait a good bit before you gran K.J. Wright. 60 tackles, 7-8 TFL, 2 INT’s, 4-6 sacks can be expected this year.
Sell: Any Seattle defensive linemen – The Seattle defensive line rotation has been killing IDP D- line scores for years. Between Frank Clark, Michael Bennett, and Cliff Avril, no one scored more than 171 fantasy points in 2016. So, no matter who you think the great defensive linemen is in Seattle for IDP play this week, in the end, you will not get the championship consistency you need playing any of these fine“real” NFL ballers.
Buy: Ethan Westbrooks, Defensive end – With the looming Aaron Donald hold out very much in play at this point, expect to see a huge uptick in stats for Mr. Westbrooks. The kid out of Texas A&M has shown promise in 4 games in 2016. With the chance to shine now upon him, he may just get more volume even when the top defensive player in the NFL comes back.
Sell: Mark Barron, Linebacker – After compiling 91 solo tackles last year, Mr. Barron was not involved in the off season camps or preseason with an undisclosed injury. Backup linebacker, Corey Littleton has crept up on his heels to start week one. He will still have a decent year, but he will not approach his IDP statistics from 2016. Sell and go get a player who is 10% involved in their team’s activities.
