We are now in the dead zone for Fantasy Football and by all means, enjoy your cookouts and poolside adventures. Also please remember that this is the last month without NFL football. So, if your league has trades open now and you really want to get away from your wife and kids, in-laws or the relatives who pop by unannounced like Cousin Eddie in Christmas Vacation, I have your escape. So, grab your phone, tablet or laptop and find a hole in the attic or crawl space and read this 8 part series of IDP Buy/Sell. If you immerse yourself into this series, you will win a lot in your IDP leagues. Now, welcome to the series that WILL take you to the promise land.
Buy: Zach Cunningham, Linebacker – I think the Crimson Tide of Alabama are still kicking themselves for not signing this freak. Instead, he led Vanderbilt in tackles in 2016 with 125 tackles and 16.5 tackles for loss.
If you own Brain Cushing, then you must draft this kid. He will take over that LBer spot real, real soon.
Sell: Benardrick McKinney, Linebacker – This is a bold sell, I know! Once the IDP king J.J. Watt comes back this year and when Brian Cushing gets taken over by the man above, I think his IDP stats will come back down to earth. He is terrible in coverage, and he can’t turn on a dime, or even a manhole cover.
Buy: Myles Jack, Linebacker – He has officially been moved to the middle, while one of my favorite LBer’s of all time, Paul “No Neck POZ” Posluszny moved over to let him take it over. If Mr. Jack can stay healthy, he will be a top 10 IDP LBer.
Sell: Dante Fowler, Defensive End – Let me first say it is hard as hell to find a “Sell” on this stellar defense. I like most of the defense, so I picked Mr. Fowler only because I think the quality of the front 7 is amazing and there will be little IDP meat getting left lying around with Malik Jackson, Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue.
Buy: Tarell Basham, Defensive Line – If this young man becomes a base end he will create some havoc. He played his ass off every time I saw him play at Ohio University. When he gets in games this year, his alpha dog mentality will help him become one of the more valuable 3rd round picks in this past draft.
Sell: Clayton Geathers, Safety – What a change for me on this one! In short order, Mr. Geathers went from a buy to now being a sell. It was revealed a short time ago that he had neck surgery for a bulging disc. As much as I love his opportunity on the back end of the barren Colts defense, I just can’t take a chance on a hard hitting safety with a neck injury. One good tackle and it could be over.
Buy: Jayon Brown, Linebacker – TAXI STASH ALERT! This LBer/Safety hybrid took over at UCLA when Myles Jack went down and did not disappoint. He led the Bruins with stops as a senior with 105. He’s a smaller LBer but he can fly around the field and is rangy as all hell. Evidence of his range is his 3 interceptions and breaking up 6 passes.
Sell: Logan Ryan, Cornerback – This take is for all my old geezers out there like me who remember and love the first season of Saturday Night Live when Garrett Morris used to help with people that had hearing problems. He would appear in a sketch in a picture bubble on the top left of the screen and yell!!!!! Ha! So, I am yelling this, “DON’T DRAFT CORNERBACKS IN YOUR IDP LEAGUE UNLESS IT”S A ROOKIE IN THE LAST ROUND! PICK THEM UP BY MATCHUP EACH WEEK! Thank You and Have a Pleasant Tomorrow.
