Dynasty Startup Season is often reminiscent of starting a new romantic relationship. In many ways, you’ve learned valuable lessons about what works and, more importantly, what doesn’t. You promise yourself you won’t repeat old mistakes. You tell yourself you’ll stay patient, trust your board, and not reach for the shiny new toy (are you listening, Jerry Jones?) just because everyone else is swooning. And yet, when you’re finally on the clock, emotions tend to creep back in.
The early rounds of a startup draft feel a lot like the honeymoon phase. Rounds 1–3 are filled with butterflies, optimism, and big dreams about the future. You’re building what you hope will be the foundation of a perennial contender. Every selection feels monumental. You’re debating cornerstone quarterbacks, elite wide receivers, and young running backs who could anchor your lineup for years. It’s intoxicating. You picture championships, future rookie picks, and trade leverage that keeps you competitive for the foreseeable future.
Then come Rounds 15–20. The new car smell fades. Depth charts look murkier. You’re laboring over breakout metrics, ambiguous backfields, and second-year tight ends who might become something eventually. This is where the romance turns into reality. Depth wins championships, but identifying it isn’t always glamorous. You’re no longer choosing superstars; you’re choosing profiles, probabilities, and patience. It can feel like banging your head against the wall, especially when snipes start piling up, and your queue gets wiped out two picks before you’re on the clock.
Ultimately, you step back from the draft room with what you hope is solid bedrock for years to come. Dynasty is a long game. A missed value in Round 2 can ripple through multiple seasons. Passing on youth for short-term production can alter your competitive window. That’s part of the beauty and the brutality of the format. As romantic as it might seem, Dynasty Fantasy Football is arguably more demanding than a love life. Poor choices don’t just sting; they compound. Ok, maybe it’s as demanding as a love life after all.
Welcome to This Bish
Pumping the brakes on the hyperbole for a moment, I’d like to formally welcome you to Dynasty Football Factory’s first official 2026 Dynasty Startup Mock. Over the coming weeks, our content team will break down key inflection points throughout the draft. We’ll highlight favorite picks, debate roster construction strategies, and analyze positional runs that can shift an entire draft board in minutes. Here’s the draft through eight rounds.

As I say every year, the real tension begins late and typically around Round 9. This is where roster direction crystallizes and forces questions: Are you pushing all-in? Are you leaning into youth and future draft capital? These middle rounds are where championships are quietly built or where competitive windows quietly close before they ever open.
We want to encourage you to follow along throughout the series and engage with us. If you have questions, strategy dilemmas, or specific scenarios you’d like discussed, don’t hesitate to reach out.
