2022 DFF Superflex Rookie Mock Draft 1.0

Six members of the DFF Army got together to conduct an early Superflex 2022 Rookie Mock Draft, everyone doubled up on teams to make it reflect a 12-team league and, for fairness of randomly generated draft spot we decided to pick in a snake format, rather than the typical fixed order that rookie drafts are conducted in. I will also provide some insights on the picks based on my personal analysis.

First Round

1. Jagger 2 selects Kenneth Walker III, RB, Michigan State

2. Billy 1 selects Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M

3. Carl 1 selects Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina

4. Justin 2 selects Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

5. Jagger 1 selects Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State

6. Doc 2 selects Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

7. Brad 2 selects Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss

8. Carl 2 selects David Bell, WR, Purdue

9. Doc 1 selects Malik Willis QB, Liberty

10. Brad 1 selects Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

11. Billy 2 selects John Metchie II, WR, Alabama

12. Justin 1 selects Drake London, WR, USC

Best Value – Breece Hall was selected by Jagger at the fifth pick. He may not be explosive, but Hall will be a productive NFL running back and as the fifth pick this is a great value.

Best Player – Billy’s selection of Isaiah Spiller will likely go down as the best pick in the draft as he may be the only starting NFL running back long-term.

Worst Pick – Billy’s selection of John Metchie II at 11 overall is a clear indication of a tier drop. There are not many great options after the top-10. Metchie may not be the top wide receiver drafted in this class. It is a very weak class overall though so you want to position yourself in the top-10 whenever possible.

Second Round

  1. Justin 1 selects Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh
  2. Billy 2 selects Justyn Ross, WR, Clemson
  3. Brad 1 selects Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State
  4. Doc 1 selects Jalen Wydermeyer, TE , Texas A&M
  5. Carl 2 selects Kyren Williams, RB, Notre Dame
  6. Brad 2 selects Brian Robinson Jr, RB, Alabama
  7. Doc 2 selects Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama
  8. Jagger 1 selects Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
  9. Justin 2 selects Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA
  10. Carl 1 selects Kennedy Brooks, RB, Oklahoma
  11. Billy 1 selects Spencer Rattler, QB, Transfer Portal
  12. Jagger 2 selects George Pickens, WR, Georgia

Best Value – Carl’s selection of Kyren Wiliams is a late second-round pick that could result in a top-24 dynasty running back if all the stars align.

Best Player – Brad’s selection of Jahan Dotson at 15th overall. Dotson may be the top wide receiver drafted this season.

Worst Pick – This draft was conducted before the fact that Spencer Rattler entered the transfer portal, so Billy dodged a bullet there. Justin’s selection of Zach Charbonnet is the first pick that could offer zero NFL production.

Third Round

  1. Jagger 2 selects Zamir White, RB, Georgia
  2. Billy 1 selects JT Daniels, QB, Georgia
  3. Carl 1 selects Carson Strong, QB, Nevada
  4. Justin 2 selects Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky
  5. Jagger 1 selects Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College
  6. Doc 2 selects Jerrion Ealy, RB, Ole Miss
  7. Brad 2 selects Tyler Allgeier, RB, BYU
  8. Carl 2 selects Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State
  9. Doc 1 selects Isaiah Likely, TE, BYU
  10. Brad 1 selects Malik Cunningham, QB, Louisville
  11. Billy 2 selects Kevin Harris, RB, South Carolina
  12. Justin 1 selects Jerome Ford, RB, Cincinnati

We are in the third round of a weak rookie class so the terms best and worst can be used very loosely as we are square in the middle of a dart throw area.

Best Value – Jagger’s selection of Zay Flowers could certainly be a top-100 pick in the draft.

Best Player – Justin may have found a true difference-maker in Wan’Dale Robinson, he is a Rondale Moore/Elijah Moore type of player.

Worst Pick – No bad picks in dart throw areas.

Fourth  Round

  1. Justin 1 selects Rachaad White, RB, Arizona State
  2. Billy 2 selects Jayden Daniels, QB, Arizona State
  3. Brad 1 selects Eric Gray, RB, Oklahoma
  4. Doc 1 selects Zonovan Knight, RB, NC State
  5. Carl 2 selects Tyler Badie, RB, Missouri
  6. Brad 2 selects Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama
  7. Doc 2 selects Sincere McCormick, RB, UTSA
  8. Jagger 1 selects Kevin Marks, RB, Buffalo
  9. Justin 2 selects Kaontay Ingram, RB, USC
  10. Carl 1 selects Calvin Turner, RB, Hawaii
  11. Billy 1 selects Joe Ngata, WR, Clemson
  12. Jagger 2 selects Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State

Best Value – Justin’s selection of Rachaad White could hit big if he gets favorable draft capital and landing spots.

Best Player – Brad’s selection of Jalen Tolbert in the fourth round represents a player that could potentially be selected in the second round of actual rookie drafts.

Worst Pick – No bad picks in dart throw areas.
