Treylon Burks was drafted by the Tennessee Titans, becoming the sixth wide receiver and 18th overall player in the 2022 NFL Draft.
COLLEGE PRODUCTION
After a quiet freshman year, Burks elevated his production significantly in his sophomore year. He had 820 yards receiving and seven touchdowns in only nine games. He followed that up with an even better junior year with 1,104 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns. Burks rated highly in two of the more predictive metrics for future success. His receiving yards per team pass attempt (RYPTPA) of 3.52 was the third-best in the class. His dominator rating (share of teams receiving yards and touchdowns) was second-best overall to Jalen Tolbert.
FILM
Burks overpowered college defenders with his size and speed. It will be interesting to see how this translates to the NFL with the increase in athleticism. Burks is versatile with the ability to line up in the slot and outside. He profiles as a YAC monster and will benefit from a creative play-caller. Burks will need to improve his route running at the next level but this can be taught.
ATHLETIC TESTING
One of the big surprises of the pre-draft process was Treylon’s lackluster performance at the combine. The 5.79 relative athletic score was one of the worst of the top prospects in this class. His game film showed more burst than his testing.
He measured in at 6’2” 225 lbs. and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds. His vertical (33 inches), three-cone (7.28 seconds), bench press (12 reps), and shuttle (4.4 seconds) were all in the poor category under the size-adjusted Relative Athletic Score.

FANTASY INSIGHTS
I have Burks ranked as the number four wide receiver in this class for projected future dynasty value. He needs to refine parts of his game but he has the tools to develop into an alpha and future top-24 fantasy wide receiver.
The landing spot is an interesting one. If the Titans were willing to move on from A.J. Brown to get Burks, they obviously have big plans for him. For dynasty purposes, this offense is aging with Julio Jones, Robert Woods, and Derrick Henry. They need to rebuild it with youth and did. You should expect Burks to be selected in the top seven picks of your dynasty rookie drafts.
