2022 DFF Draft Coverage: Skyy Moore

Skyy Moore | Western Michigan 5’10” 195 lbs. | 9/10/2000 (Age 21)

Skyy Moore was drafted 54th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs, becoming the 13th wide receiver in the 2022 NFL Draft.

COLLEGE PRODUCTION

Moore burst on the scene early going for 802 yards his freshman year. His junior year cemented his status as an early-round NFL prospect with 95 receptions for 1,292 yards and 10 touchdowns. Moore is a G5 receiver declaring for the draft as a junior which is a rare occurrence. That in and of itself should tell you how good Moore is. Western Michigan threw to Moore early and often. He had a 3.48 receiving yard per team pass attempt which was third-best in this class. He also led all prospects in yards per route run.

FILM

Moore excelled vs press coverage at the college level which is a good sign for his ability to transition to the NFL level.  He is incredibly sure-handed with only six career drops. Despite his fairly small stature at 5’10” tall, Moore had the largest hand size of any wide receiver in this class. He likely fills the slot role for his next team. His route running can still use refinement at the NFL level to improve separation.

ATHLETIC TESTING

At the combine, Skyy Moore measured 5’ 10” 195 lbs. He checked in with an impressive 40-yard dash time of 4.41. His three-cone time was poor at 7.13. Moore had a good performance in the bench press with 15 reps and a vertical jump at 34.5 inches. This led to an overall relative size-adjusted athletic score of 7.54 out of 10 which is average for the top prospects in this draft class.

DRAFT ANALYSIS

Rapid Reaction to Draft Capital: Average
Rapid Reaction to Landing Spot: Excellent

Moore was selected with the 54th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.

FANTASY INSIGHTS

Being paired with Patrick Mahomes is as good as you can ask for with a rookie wide receiver prospect. Tyreek Hill is gone along with his 1239 receiving yards. Moore figures to step in and contribute immediately. I have Moore ranked as the number eight wide receiver in this class for projected future dynasty value. He has the potential to make an impact at the next level but he does not profile as a number one receiver. Moore should go off the board in rookie drafts in the early second-round.
