With Week 12 of the NFL and fantasy football regular season just on the horizon, matchups are more season-decisive than ever.Name and draft value no longer matter. Timing is one of the most crucial factors when it comes to considering adding any player to a fantasy football roster.Sometimes stats and trends mislead us to believe that a breakout for a player is coming. Speaking of quarterbacks that you can get off of waivers unless somebody in your league did this already, we have Nick Foles. Normally, I wouldn’t touch good ol’ St. Nick in fantasy. However, he plays the Raiders and the Falcons during fantasy playoffs, which will make virtually anybody a potential starter. The Raiders and Falcons are two of the teams that allow the most fantasy points to quarterbacks. That’s not good unless you’re starting a quarterback that plays against them, which you can do in back-to-back weeks with Foles in the fantasy playoffs.

Ryan Tannehill (TEN) vs Chiefs, 8.4% owned
Tannehill has performed well in his three starts from Week’s 7-9, putting up 19.2, 19.4, and then 23 fantasy points in four-point touchdown scoring. Now, he draws a plus matchup at home against the Chiefs. I expect Patrick Mahomes to return for this game, which will allow the Chiefs to put up points on the Titans much more so than with interim starter Matt Moore. Therefore, the Titans will need to play catch up, and Tannehill will be forced to throw.

Kenny Stills returned from his two-week absence to put up 105 yards after catching four of five targets. Stills has been hit and miss for fantasy so far this season, scoring double-digit points three times, but less than five points twice in the five games he has played. Auden Tate has become a consistent part of the Bengals offense through six weeks, an offense that has spent an average of 38 minutes and 47 seconds trailing per game. If this trend continues, and the Bengals have shown nothing to say that it won’t, Andy Dalton will be passing the ball a lot. The Bengals have averaged 40.5 passing attempts per game and since Week 2, an average of 8.5 targets per game have headed Auden Tate’s way. Their upcoming opponents and their once feared defenses have been middle of the pack this season when it comes to allowing fantasy points to wide receivers (JAX 15th and LAR 21st in points allowed to WRs in 2019).
