Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Washington Commanders

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (offseason edition). The off-season madness is upon us, as teams prepare for free agency and the NFL Draft. Meanwhile, we as dynasty managers need to be preparing as well. Who are we going to target in rookie drafts? Who are we going to go out and trade for? Who are we willing to give up in return? Will you go all in this season to bring home a championship? Or should you go young and prepare for the future? There’s so much to think about before September. The “off-season edition” of this series is an early look at whose stock is up and whose stock is down as we head into free agency and draft season. We will break down each NFL team one by one. Today is all about the new-named Washington Commanders.

Redraft: Week 9 Buy/Sell

Hello, fellow fantasy managers. I am Chris Miles, The Draft Director, and in this series of articles, I will be helping you determine what players value you should be taking advantage of each week in your Redraft league. If someone’s value is too high I might tell you to sell or if I think their value will decrease soon he could also be a sell. I will give my reasoning for why each player falls in a certain category. I will attempt to have the format consistently be a buy and sell for each position but that may increase or decrease depending on the week.

Searching for RB Deep Stashes

In dynasty, one of the most under-appreciated assets is the bench stash running back. These cheap assets can climb up depth charts and become useful to either your starting lineup or for trade. These types of players can be acquired for a fourth-round rookie pick or less in most leagues but can return a second-rounder or more in trades if they become a starter. Even if it’s only for a couple of weeks. For example, last season I was able to trade Ryan Nall and a third-round rookie pick for a second-round rookie pick when he took over for David Montgomery. The hardest part is finding which players are the best bets to not only remain on a team but also climb a depth chart. This article will go over certain metrics you can look for when deciding between these late-round or free-agent RBs.

DFF Draft Coverage: Jaret Patterson to the WFT

Jaret Patterson is a shifty runner with quick feet. He won’t blow you away with his 4.58 speed, but he was good at making people miss in college when working with minimal space. There were a lot of red flags on film with Patterson. Several times where bigger defenders were able to take him down without help. He’s hesitant at times when making the decision of which hole to hit. Patterson has excellent ball security and drive. He’s a competitor. He’s a fun player to watch, but I’m not sure his skills are going to translate in the NFL.

Draft Stock Watch: Week 13

Week 13 of the college football season is now in the books and with the first week of College Football Playoff rankings, each of the consensus top four escaped the week unscathed. Sarah Fuller became the first woman in history to play in a Power Five football game, as she kicked off for Vanderbilt. We also saw the record for TDs in a game get matched and nearly broken. Let’s unpack this exciting Week 13 slate of games and check the stocks of some of our favorite college players!

Draft Stock Watch: Week 12

The Week 12 slate of games saw a pair of ranked teams fall and a handful of the top teams in the nation get taken down to the wire, only to prevail late in the game. #10 Wisconsin lost a defensive battle against conference foe #19 Northwestern and #21 Liberty saw their game-winning field goal attempt blocked in an upset loss to unranked North Carolina State. On the draft front, many prospects had stand-out games and improved their stocks. While it was difficult to select just a couple of performances to feature, we’ll now review which players increased or decreased their ranks!

Draft Stock Watch: Week 10

Each week I will bring you the latest updates and NFL buzz surrounding college players that should prove to be integral to future fantasy success. I will utilize recent statistics, performance and film, and general “front office whispers” to compile the intel I share with you. My hope is to provide you with a leg up on your opponents. You will know which devy players to target in trades and/or in what range of draft picks (both NFL and fantasy drafts) you can expect these players to be selected. If you want to read last week’s article, click here. Another weekend of college football is in the books, and we all got to witness a big game that finally lived up to the hype, watching Notre Dame actually come through in a big game for once. The double-overtime thriller, though, was not the only action, as we welcomed back Pac12 and MAC football this past week.  We continued to see offensive fireworks in the SEC as well. Consequently, we will sift through the Week Ten action and take a look at some of the draft stock movements for our future fantasy football stars.
