Raiding The IDP Waiver Wire: Week 16

Week 15 has been the most chaotic week of the 2021 season. Arguably no fantasy playoff round has ever been more challenging than this. The waiver-wire moves that fantasy gamers are making this week are season-saving moves made at the eleventh hour in reaction to COVID-IR transactions and late-breaking inactives. This reality feels likely to spill over to Week 16 as well. This week’s waiver-wire offerings will be those players who appear likely to occupy near-full-time roles in their upcoming games.

IDP Post-Rookie Draft Waiver Targets

Each season in dynasty leagues there are post-rookie draft waiver targets that provide a tremendous value for owners who were savvy or lucky enough to find them on their roster. Some provide an immediate “home-run” return like Kamren Curl did last season or Maxx Crosby in 2019. Others make great taxi squad stashes that provide value later (think Jerome Baker, Josey Jewell, Jeffery Simmons, Dre Greenlaw, D.J. Wonnum, Alex Highsmith, etc.). The majority will fall flat as expected.

Raiding the IDP Waiver Wire: Week 2

In light of what we saw in Week 2, Week 1 reminds me of the first scene at the Moscow hospital in the television series “Chernobyl.” Firefighters responded to the explosion of a nuclear reactor at the Chernobyl nuclear reactor in Ukraine. Those that survived were transported to Moscow for treatment for severe radiation exposure. The wife of firefighter Vasily finds her husband playing cards and smoking cigarettes on a hospital bed during a reprieve in symptoms. Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season was the end of that Chernobyl episode, where Vasily and his comrades experienced cellular disintegration turning them into molten lumps of flesh. Shocking and irreversible was the injury carnage of Week 2.

Raiding the IDP Waiver Wire: Week 15

The playoffs will be or already underway in most fantasy leagues in Week 15. Time has run out to put chips on players in hopes that they emerge. Injury replacements can prove risky, as well. Reserve players thrust into full-time roles can find themselves back on the bench quickly for poor play.

Raiding the IDP Waiver Wire: Week 14

Finding productive players for next week’s fantasy football line-ups involves identifying emerging young players and spotting the “next man up” due to injury or transaction. NFL teams have played three-quarters of their games. Those teams playing for 2020 are likely to get young players more involved.

Raiding the IDP Waiver Wire: Week 12

Finding productive players for next week’s fantasy football line-ups involves identifying emerging young players and spotting the “next man up” due to injury or transaction. Week 11 is no different. Players leaving the field with injuries sustained in Week 11 include Demarcus Lawrence, Dee Ford, Justin Reid, Morgan Burnett, and Tracy Walker.  Myles Garrett and Larry Obunjobi are likely to miss the Browns’ next game for harm potentially inflicted rather than injuries sustained.
