If I’ve done my math correctly, an incredible 443 former SEC players are on NFL teams. Mid-American Conference: WR and TE

Despite playing at a smaller school, Odom was still able to rack up a solid stat line of 20 receptions, 308 yards, and 3 TDs during his freshman year at Ohio. He proceeded to improve upon these stats during his Sophomore year, amassing 30 receptions, 418 yards, and 2 TDs. Odom proved to be a reliable target in that offense, repeatedly flashing sideline awareness and remarkable toe-dragging ability whenever necessary. In addition, Odom utilized every bit of his 6’1” frame when faced with contested catch situations, as he consistently out-positioned and out-muscled DBs at the catch point.

Devy Spotlight: Stevie Scott

College: IndianaPosition: Running BackYear Eligible: 20212021 Running Back Rank: 3Height: 6’2” Weight: 235 lbs.Indiana Hoosier running back Stevie Scott was not on a lot of devy radars going into last season. The former three-star running back from Syracuse, New York was the 80th ranked running back in the 2018 recruiting class by 247Sports. Scott played both sides of the ball in high school and could’ve played either side in college, but Scott wound up on offense as the Hoosiers starting running back in 2018 and didn’t look back.Scott burst onto the scene in week two against Virginia, running the ball 31 times for 204 yards and one touchdown en route to an Indiana victory. He would go on to rush for at least 100 yards in six of twelve games as a freshman and finished his freshman season with 1,137 yards and ten rushing touchdowns. Scott also caught sixteen passes for 86 yards and a touchdown. With Indiana losing some of their pass catchers from last year, Scott could look to step up and take some of this production for himself. His 27.06% dominator rating was third highest in 2018 of all 2021 draft-eligible running backs. His 18.4 years breakout age also ranked him third last year out of all the running backs in the nation according to The Devy Watch. Scott will look to build upon his breakout freshman year in 2019 as the returning starting running back for the Hoosiers in Bloomington.

Pre-season Top 10 2020 prospects: Wide Receivers 1-5

The word for awhile has been all about how crazy talented the skill position groups are for the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft. I was honestly skeptical of it at first glance, but it isn’t until I settled in to watch these players that I realized that it could be a historic class. The headliner group is the wide receiver group. In both fantasy and real football, wide receivers are becoming more and more valuable due to the increase in passing efficiency and new offenses of the era. I was impressed by the 2019 class because it not only had a definite superstar candidate in DK Metcalf, but it also had depth. Last year’s class was an insanely deep group of talented wide receivers. There were 28 total wide receivers drafted with about 23 undrafted players I gave a draftable grade to. It was a phenomenally deep class of players. The 2020 group beats it. I don’t mean simply beat, I mean outclassed in a 2003 Oklahoma-Texas A&M style blowout. Not only does this class have superstar talents, it has *several*. It was so difficult to narrow down the list to just ten players for this article, and several others could have made their case for it. I released my 6-10 list article here.

Ever since I was a baby I’ve always either had a football in my crib or was playing “crawling football” since I couldn’t walk, stuff like that. It just seems like I’ve always been around the game. Why did you transfer from Boise State to Duquesne to further your football career? When I initially signed, the DC and the DB coach who recruited me there, left right after. It was clear to me that the new DC’s vision for the defense was to have thicker guys at the corner position. In fact, they brought in a 6’0”, 200 lbs. CB in the spring of 2017 and immediately put him in the starting spot. I did eventually earn the starting position, but a big part of me getting my opportunity was because that CB they brought in got suspended. I played well the first 3 games and I was rated the top player overall on that team as per PFF rankings. Then against Virginia, I got a minor injury and had to come out of the game. From then on, I barely played any defensive snaps and it was very apparent what the DC had in mind for the defense. I then had to make a decision to either stay where I was at under the same staff or leave, so I left. I chose Duquesne for two reasons:  1. It provided a National Tier 1 education, and 2. They play in a high passing conference and they promised to play me in the slot which is where I feel like I project at the next level. That being said, I have no hard feelings for anyone at Boise State and I am extremely happy at Duquesne.

Preseason Top 10 2020 prospects: Wide Receivers 6-10

The word for a while has been all about how crazy talented the skill position groups are for the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft. I was skeptical of it at first glance. It wasn’t until I settled in to watch these players that I realized that it could be a historic class. The headliner group is the wide receiver group. Not only does this class have superstar talents, it has *several*. It was so difficult to narrow down the list to just ten players for this article, and several others could have made their case for it. To properly narrow down this list and give each player their due justice, I had to split this thing in half. Here is my WRs from 10-6:10. Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma StateOklahoma State has a history of producing NFL caliber wide receivers in recent history, with guys like Dez Bryant, Justin Blackmon, and James Washington being taken high in their respective drafts. Tylan Wallace will join that list soon. Wallace is an explosive athlete and a phenom in contested catch situations with great body control. He’ll need to cut down on his drop numbers, but his QB Taylor Cornelius didn’t deliver him an accurate ball most of the time. Being an Oklahoma State product, his routes are fairly limited, but there are traits for him to build off of to become successful in this area.Pro Comp: Paul Richardson, Washington RedskinsBest Fit: New Orleans SaintsThe Saints wide receivers are Michael Thomas and a bunch of guys. Ted Ginn is effective but aging, and we’re still waiting for signs of life from former 3rd rounder Tre’Quan Smith. Tylan Wallace would be a great fit in Sean Payton’s offense as a deep threat as a Z or even in the slot. With Thomas dominating and altering the defense, Tylan’s explosiveness and contested catch ability would be a mismatch.

2020 NFL Draft Break Out Sleepers Candidates

Every year, there are players that seemingly fall through the cracks of the NFL Draft process for a multitude of reasons. Nobody talks about these guys in the media leading up to the draft or doesn’t talk about them *enough* compared to other guys at their position. Whether these guys play at a smaller school

Don’t Count Out Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts came onto the scene as a true freshman for Alabama in 2016 and immediately captured the attention of the college football world after scoring four times in Alabama’s 52 to 6 beatdown of USC to start the season. Hurts was a four-star recruit, but very few expected that he would play right away for Alabama when he initially made his commitment (for context, he was only the 15th ranked Alabama commit according to the 247 consensus rankings). Hurts was considered to be a dual-threat quarterback, so it wasn’t entirely clear how he would fit into Lane Kiffin’s offense. If you had for some reason forgotten that Lane Kiffin was the offensive coordinator for Alabama at that time, I apologize for reminding you.

Washington Lands Four Star Wide Receiver Jalen McMillan

On Thursday, June 25th, four-star recruit Jalen McMillan committed to playing football at the University of Washington. McMillan ranks as the ninth highest-rated recruit to ever commit to Washington according to 247Sports. This is without a doubt a significant addition to Washington’s 2020 recruiting class. McMillan is ranked as the ninth-best wide receiver in the 2020 class but would be closer to the top five of my rankings…………………………………………
