It is important to remember these rankings are created with fantasy football purposes in mind. Positioning Your Squad(s) for 2022 Dynasty Rookie Drafts

When you compare the top of this class to 2021 it clarifies the point further. Treylon Burks is a BMW 7 Series while Ja’Marr Chase is an Aston Martin One-77. Trey McBride is the Outback Special while Kyle Pitts is a dry-aged A5 Wagyu Ribeye. Breece Hall is a dart throw from six feet away while Najee Harris is a dart throw from three feet away. Trevor Lawrence, Trey Lance, and Justin Fields were each thought of as top dynasty quarterbacks (QBs) for the next decade. We aren’t sure if any of these QBs from 2022 will be starters after their rookie contracts play out. We also know 2023 has elite prospects in Bryce Young, Bijan Robinson, CJ Stroud, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, and Kayshon Boutte. I would take these four above any of the 2022 prospects.

I cannot wait to begin grading prospects for my 2022 rookie drafts. Devy Players of the Week

Matt Corral is making his case for the best draft-eligible QB this year. Spencer Rattler has played poorly, and Sam Howell isn’t having the same success as years past, leaving the top QB spot in 2022 pretty much wide open. Corral could hear his name called early on April 28, and his value as a Devy and Dynasty asset could soar. We have Matt Corral ranked as the Devy QB7 and the QB3 in the 2022 class, but I see that changing soon. After Corral’s big game on a national stage, it will likely be hard to acquire him via trade unless you are willing to pay up big time. For this reason, I see Corral as a “hold” because I believe his value can only rise from here.

Devy Player Comps: Class of 2022

In this article, I will take you through the top devy options that are eligible for the 2022 NFL Draft. We will look at their listed measurements according to their college programs as well as their projected 40-yard dash times. We will project 40-yard dash times by taking their high school combine testing results and adjusting them based on the expected positional progression as these players progress from being 18-year-old kids to 21-year-old NFL players. We will also use film analysis to tweak these projected times on a player-to-player basis. Finally we will look at players who tested similarly to create a superimposed range of outcomes for these players. Let’s dive in with the top options from the class of 2022.

Garrett Wilson: 2021 Devy Profile

In his true freshman season, Wilson caught 26 passes for 385 yards and five TDs. Within the context of the Ohio State offense, he accounted for 11.4% of their receiving yardage and 10.6% of their receiving scoring. This equates to an 11.0% dominator rating and an 11.3% adjusted dominator rating. Wilson also averaged 1.07 yards per team pass attempt. While these figures do not surpass the 25% dominator rating threshold for a true breakout.

Chris Olave: 2021 Devy Profile

In his true freshman season, Olave caught 12 passes for 197 yards and three TDs. Within the context of the Ohio State offense, he accounted for 3.9% of their receiving yardage and 6% of their receiving scoring. This equates to a 5% dominator rating and a 4.3% adjusted dominator rating. Olave also averaged 0.36 yards per team pass attempt. While these figures do not surpass the 25% dominator rating threshold for a true breakout. His yards per catch average was 17.6, where above 16 is a statistically significant indicator for an NFL player’s deep-threat ability. The 2018 Ohio State team also had Terry McLaurin, Parris Campbell, K.J. Hill, and J.K. Dobbins, all current NFL players, with who Olave was competing for targets.

2021 Devy Preview: Ohio State Stacked at WR… Again

Heading into the 2021 season, Ohio State has one of the best-receiving corps in the country. On top of that, they have recruited top receivers the past few seasons resulting in a crowded wide receiver room. The Buckeyes will bring in three top recruits this upcoming season, and without losing any key players, questions about whether there are too many mouths to feed are flying. Undoubtedly some of these guys will have to bide their time, but that doesn’t mean that you should miss out on getting in on the ground floor.

National Championship Game Review: A Devy Newbie’s Perspective

As most of you know, I’m not a devy writer. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever written a devy article for DFF, mostly focusing on dynasty and redraft. I’ve published 377 articles without writing a single devy article thus far. However, that’s all about to change. Like most football fans, I tuned into the National Championship game, where Alabama defeated Ohio State 52-24. I noticed that Alabama was the far superior team, although even I knew that much from my cursory knowledge of college football. This game was the first college game I watched from start to finish all season, so I’m genuinely a new viewer. Even though I wanted to watch the game just for fun, I also got into some of the draft prospects. I know that Alabama and Ohio State are both loaded with incoming NFL talent, especially Alabama. Let’s jump into some of what I saw from a newbie’s perspective.

Draft Stock Watch: Week 9

Each week I will bring you the latest updates and NFL buzz surrounding college players that should prove to be integral to future fantasy success. I will utilize recent statistics, performance and film, and general “front office whispers” to compile the intel I share with you. My hope is to provide you with a leg up on your opponents. You will know which devy players to target in trades and/or in what range of draft picks (both NFL and fantasy drafts) you can expect these players to be selected. This weekend we all got to watch Alabama and Ohio State continue to assert their dominance, as Clemson showed they could win without their all-world QB, despite not playing their best football. Additionally, the Big12 Conference has now effectively eliminated any hopes for one of their teams earning a seed in the college football playoff this season with the twists and turns of a few other top-25 upsets blended in. With Week Nine of the college football season in the books, we take a look at some of the draft stock movements for our future fantasy football stars.
