DFF Redraft League: Drafting from the Ten Spot

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of drafting against a number of my colleagues for our 14-team staff league, cleverly named the “DFF Redraft Championship.” The draft was a ton of fun, and I can already tell the competition is going to be stiff. For some additional context, our starting lineups consist of 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 3 W/R/T, 1 K, and 1 DEF. Passing TDs are worth 6 points, while rushing and receiving first downs are worth 0.5 points. There is also a 0.1 point per carry bonus and a 0.5 TE reception bonus.  In this article, I’ll be breaking down the thought process behind each of my picks.

Rookie Quarterback Record Breakers

With the 2021 NFL Draft in the books and teams beginning their offseason mini camps, the NFL offseason is approaching a lull. We will overreact to one-on-one videos of a wide receiver breaking a defensive back’s ankles on a route when the receiver knows the play and the defensive back does not. Or it might be in the form of a running back making a decent-looking body catch against air. We may even see more statistics about Zach Wilson being 0-5 against teams with 10 or more wins in that respective season and posting just one passing touchdown in those five games.

DFF Draft Coverage: Kyle Trask to the Buccaneers

Kyle Trask took over as the starting quarterback for Florida as a sophomore when then Gators quarterback Felipe Franks went down to injury and never gave Franks a chance to get the job back. In his career, Trask completed 552 of 813 pass attempts, a 67.9% rate. He threw for 7,386 yards, 69 touchdowns, and just 15 interceptions which equates to a 168.5 passer rating. Trask leaves much to be desired as a rushing threat, he has a total of 54 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 132 attempts. He won’t be boosting his fantasy production with much work on the ground.

Inbound Freshmen Quarterback: Top Five

Welcome to the Thunderdome my #DFFArmy, the name’s Heady and college football signing day is FINALLY complete. Now that all of those four and five-star players have delivered their letter of intent to the college of their choice, it is time to dive into where the gunslingers of this class rank with regards to Devy leagues. Because most leagues only have three to five open roster spots, soon to be freshman quarterbacks will need to have that “it” factor to make them worthy. Lucky for you, I went out and spent the time watching their film to rank the five quarterbacks you should consider in this new 2024 class.

The Dynasty Wire: Week 3

I’m certain you’re in need of a running back, like every dynasty manager in 2020. It’s a battle of attrition. But, never fear, there still may be a few useful players left on the waiver wire to plug in for a couple of weeks. Seattle Seahawks’ running back Travis Homer is one of those players. The Seahawks’ starting running back suffered a sprained knee in Sunday’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys and will likely miss some time. Homer, along with Carlos Hyde, will work as a tandem to fill Carson’s shoes. Hyde is probably already owned, but that’s ok. Homer provides a higher upside for PPR leagues as he will be utilized in the passing game more often.
