Projecting Quarterback Success for Dynasty

I am trying to help us find ways to avoid the bust at quarterback, especially in rookie drafts. This is the cheapest most of these quarterbacks will ever be, but if you miss on one and spend a first-round pick on them, it could set you back even further.

I am looking at quarterbacks drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft and breaking them down into 4 tiers from 2015 to 2025.

I call the 1st tier the “green tier”. These are the quarterbacks who score a 90 or higher in my model and went to a Power 5 school. My model includes a film grade from Lance Zierlein, fantasy points per game in college, and their passing touchdowns-to-interceptions ratio.

There have been 37 quarterbacks drafted since 2015 in the first round, but only 13 ended up in tier 1, the green tier.

Below are the names of those 13 guys.

COLLEGE PRODUCTION

In his 2025 season at Indiana, Mendoza completed 273-of-379 passes (72.0%) for 3,535 yards, 41 touchdowns, and only 6 interceptions. He also added 276 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Mendoza has a prolific Junior season, leading his team to a National Championship to pair with his Heisman trophy.

FILM

Mendoza is a highly effective pocket passer who identifies defenses rapidly, particularly when operating out of RPO-heavy schemes. He displays elite touch, specifically on seam routes and back-shoulder fades, placing the ball in areas where only his receivers can make plays. While not a dual-threat runner, he shows toughness in the pocket and enough mobility to pick up critical yardage when the play breaks down.

2026 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Draft Quarterback Model

My goals for this Quarterback model are to help us win more championships and have fewer busts in our rookie drafts for Dynasty football. Some players get hyped up with the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine each year, but they are landmines, and I want to help you avoid them if possible. Quarterbacks should always be one of the first pieces of your team, but you should always take the best player available in your rookie drafts and trade for needs.

Kansas Baylor Football

C2C Start/Sit: Week 5

Start: Sawyer Robertson, Baylor at Oklahoma State

Robertson has 1,320 yards with 13 touchdowns and three interceptions on 62.6 percent and 7.6 yards per attempt. Oklahoma State’s defense is near the bottom across the board at 115th in points allowed, 128th against the run, 80th against the pass, 116th in takeaways, and 115th in sacks, with a poor red zone mark at 112th. Baylor is going to keep throwing, and this defense hasn’t been stopping much. Start him.
