After penning yesterday’s waiver wire article, I realized that I neglected to mention some players you should look to add while the preseason is still underway. If you didn’t get a chance to read yesterday’s suggestions, you can find them here. Okay, team let’s get back at it in earnest.
QB – Chad Henne – Blake Bortles looks completely broken and lost. It’s hard to see him righting his ways and maintaining his starting role all season for the Jags. At this point, I don’t think Bortles can even handle the role of a game manager, the lowest possible rung on the QB ladder.
QB – Trevor Siemian The QB competition in Denver has come to its conclusion according to multiple reports today. Siemian is another QB to hold onto in 2QB and Superflex leagues. At worst he’s a streaming option during bye weeks. You need to check to see if Chad Kellyis available on your waivers as well. If he is, pick him up immediately. Kelly may redshirt this season while he heals from a multitude of injuries. Come 2018 Kelly might very well be the starter, the kid is uber-talented but has battled injury and some off-field issues which caused him to nearly go undrafted.
Vance Joseph will address QB situation at his 1:15 presser. Joseph expected to name Trevor Siemian the starter, per source. #9sports

RB – Javorius Allen – Allen is a versatile running back. This was on display Thursday night when he ran the ball for 40 yards on 10 carries and also contributed three receptions for 16 yards. He can do by himself what West and Woodhead do separately. Woodhead is not the picture of health and has been given a 37.7% chance of injury in 2017 by Sportsinjurypredictor.com .
RB – Chris Carson – Carson has worked himself into a likely roster spot with his preseason practices and game performance. With the muddled situation in Seattle’s backfield, Carson is a cheap stash and see player.
WR – Bruce Ellington – I can not quit Bruce Ellington. He looked healthy to me Saturday against the Pats. He ran precise routes, made a couple of catches. If he can stay healthy(a big if), he could provide some sneaky value in Texas out of the slot.
That’s enough for this week; we’ll talk again next week about some more waiver wire adds. In the interim give me a follow at @DFF_Shane. We can talk fantasy football, music, maybe Games of Thrones, whatever I’m easy.
