2017 IDP Rookie Mock Draft: Rounds 4-6

2017 IDP Rookie Mock Draft: Rounds 4-6

ROUND 4

*4.01 Budda Baker, S, Washington (‪@Josh444444)

Playmaker. Have watched a lot of him and like his versatility, will find a way to stay on the field. Think a team drafting him will plan to use him similar to how Tyrann Mathieu is used. Good value in the 4th.

*4.02 Raekwon McMillan, LB, OSU (@Kered_Eel)

*4.03 Carl Lawson, EDGE, Auburn (@the_ATJ)

Yep Andy reviewed this guy too.

*4.04 Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut (@hroman1234)

6’3″ and ran a 40 at 4.53…..hybrid LB/S.  Senior year  118 tackles. Junior year 88 tackles.

4.05 Artavis Scott, WR, Clemson (@fulst_rosto)(DFF)

4.06 Corey Clement, RB Wisconsin (@‪duckzfan50‬)

Like the value here in the 4th. Not tall, but has enough beef to translate into some sort of NFL role.

*4.07 Jalen Reeves-Maybin, TENN, LB  (@FatAdamSchefter)(DFF)

Amazing range for a slower inside linebacker. Had 21 tackles against Oklahoma. Seemed like there was three players with his number on the field that day.

*4.08 Anthony Walker Jr, LB, Northwestern (@allpurposeyrd8g)(DFF)

John Orr profiled him this past November.

4.09 Bucky Hodges, TE, VT (@DFF_Madman)(DFF)

My favorite TE prospect in this draft. Very athletic receiving TE. Understands the offense at a high level and finds soft spots in zones. Needs to work on blocking, but look at Jimmy Graham. He carved out a nice role in the passing game at the risk of blocking.

4.10 Chad Hansen, WR, Cal (@pacificscouting)(DFF)

Chad Hansen has very good ball skills and body control. He consistently wins the jump ball and his athleticism shows up on tape. A Day 2 guy with a lot to offer a team immediately, but also possesses a ton of upside.

*4.11 Takkarist McKinley, OLB UCLA (@AndrewMiley)(DFF)

So I needed to grab an IDP, he loves to smash people and is my LB5. My kind of guy!

*4.12 Malik McDowell, DE, Michigan St.  (@DFF_JohnIDP)(DFF)

Versatility is what you get. Penetrates often. Would be a great chess piece for any defense.

ROUND 5

5.01 Amara Darboh, WR Michigan (‪@Josh444444)

Because Andy has seemingly reviewed every player in college let’s see how Darboh fared in his bowl game.

5.02 Chris Godwin, WR, Penn St (@Kered_Eel)

5.03 Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson (@the_ATJ)

Hey it’s a player profile!

5.04 Ricky Seals-Jones, WR, Texas A&M (@hroman1234)

We discussed Seals-Jones with Utterfantasy.com way back in April 2016.

*5.05 Charles Harris, DE, Missouri (@fulst_rosto)

John Orr profiled Harris.

5.06 Josh Malone, WR, Tennessee (@‪duckzfan50‬)

Big receiver. Easily in my top 10 for this class.

5.07 Marlon Mack, RB, USF (@FatAdamSchefter)(DFF)

Has 3 down talent. Might get pushed into day 2 or 3 because of the RB talent. Will be a steal for an NFL team to get USF’s all time rushing leader.

5.08 Taywan Taylor, WR, W. Kentucky  (@allpurposeyrd8g)(DFF)

Andy Miley with another prospect bowl review.

5.09 Curtis Samuel, WR/RB, Ohio State (@DFF_Madman)(DFF)

This was a gift. I did not realize Samuel had not declared until later in the day I picked him. I thought it was a certainty. You will not see Samuel this low in real drafts, and most mocks… He has gone in the 2nd round of our previous DFF mocks.

5.10 Carlos Henderson, WR, LA Tech (@pacificscouting)(DFF)

Henderson is a yards after catch machine. He can win over the top and has been seen as a deep threat but his shiftiness and speed allows QBs to just get him the ball sit back and watch him work.

*5.11 Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan (@AndrewMiley)(DFF)

5.12 Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson (@DFF_JohnIDP)(DFF)

3 down TE who gets the job done. Not flashy but works hard and I like his ability to stay on the field.

Round 6

6.01 Matt Dayes, RB NCST(‪@Josh444444)

How did he perform in his most recent bowl game? Funny you should ask.

6.02 Ryan Switzer, WR UNC (@Kered_Eel)

I’m a fan of his route running and hands. Think he can carve out a role in NFL

*6.03 Joe Mathis, LB, Washington  (@the_ATJ)

6.04 James Conner, RB, Pitt (@hroman1234)

Bowl game review.

6.05 Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina  (@fulst_rosto)(DFF)

Consistently productive over his 4 seasons playing for the Pirates, culminating in his 158 catches in 16, may end up buried on a practise squad in the pros, but worth a late round stash on a taxi squad for 17.

6.06 Jake Butt, TE, Michigan (@‪duckzfan50‬)

Yep, bowl review.

*6.07 Josh Jones, S, N.C. State  (@FatAdamSchefter)(DFF)

6’2 205 lb tackling machine. With 4.4 wheels. Um, yes please in the 6th.

6.08 Jehu Chesson, WR, Michigan (@allpurposeyrd8g)(DFF)

Size and speed combo cannot go overlooked. I still believe!

6.09 Brad Kaaya, QB, University of Miami(@DFF_Madman)(DFF)

I like his potential. Is a bit of a project though. However, if I had realized Mahomes had already declared, I would have taken him at this spot instead.

6.10 Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech (@pacificscouting)(DFF)

Patrick Mahomes struggles in a ton of areas at the QB position, but he’s still accurate with a big arm and scrambling ability. Has the most upside out of any QB in the draft because of his physical gifts.

6.11 Jeremy McNichols, RB, Boise St (@AndrewMiley)(DFF)

Sure he is more Doug Martin than Jay Ajayi, but I like him as a part of a committee at the next level.

*6.12 Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson  (@DFF_JohnIDP)(DFF)

Disrupts plays and makes an impact. I’m buying here
